NGD: Agile AL2000
I've been itching to get my hands on something mid ground, had to be an LP style guitar. I wanted to go for either the Agile, an Epiphone or an Olson guitar. I chose the Agile as it came out cheaper, and the communication was bang on with Kurt (ie, I asked a question and he answered it...I didn't have to try to wrangle any answers out of him or ask things twice.)
So here she is! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Not only gorgeous, but plays fantastic and came pretty well set up. I do like the ceramic pickups, but I have an EMG 85/60 set coming that might make their way into her. Based on this one guitar, I'll be back to Rondo Music to buy more in the future. This thing is niiiice! The neck is smooth and feels solid, the body fits like any Gibson LP I've tried on and the electronics are clean. Pickups are very well balanced too...but the strings were way too slinky for me. Unfortunately all I had to put on it were some Gibson Reissue nickels 10's while my preferred are Ernie Ball Power Slinky 11's. When I put in the EMG's, I'll get the proper strings on and see if it still plays and sounds as nice. |

Re: NGD: Agile AL2000
Thanks all...at first I wasn't too sure about the top, especially since it was a lot more subtle in the pics used on the site than the one that arrived. But I love the way this guitar feels and sounds and I'm actually quite amazed at the beauty of the flame and the depth of the grain. It's almost mesmerizing to stare at... Here's an original shot to show how subtle it was supposed to be...almost an ebony aside from the sight hints of flame.
![]() And the feel of this thing; it's pretty close to the PRS SE I had a few years ago, but definitely more heft to it. I didn't weigh it but the site says 10lbs and it's gotta be close. It's a little nicer feeling than an Epiphone...I find the Chinese Epi's have a soft feel to their necks..whether that's in the finish or the wood used I don't know. I'm not going to say "it's a good guitar for the money" because that doesn't really say much, but I will say it's a great guitar and it's nicely affordable... I'd recommend one to anyone. |

Aint that the the freaking truth man. Those pics on Rondo simply do not do these guitars justice.

Re: NGD: Agile AL2000
They are great guitars.
I bought a 3100 a while ago. I was really happy with how smooth the deal was and how nice the guitar is. I just ordered an AS820 last nite. Ought to be here in a week or so. |

Re: NGD: Agile AL2000
I love that color!! I've seen that color once on the Agile forums. The poster called it a Blackburst flame and I asked Kurt if he had anymore and I couldn't really get an answer about it. I see pics of the black flame AL's look almost solid black and the 7 string pics are burst looking. Both are called black flame though. I got an Ibanez Prestige just to get that color out of my system(nice guitar too). I dont understand why Gibson doesn't flame the Silverburst. I'm gonna have to email Kurt again and ask about this color.

Re: NGD: Agile AL2000
I liked this one so much I had to go and order another!
![]() This next one will house my double white MHD 86/87's and will get some trans-white speed knobs. Disclaimer: These are stock pics, not the actual MHD pups I have on order. It's also coming in a white HSC. ![]() Dunno why...I'm on a kick right now. I also just got the EMG's for the Black Agile, they're to go in tonight, so more pics incoming!! |
