Re: The Unofficial Official Anything ESP Edwards & Navigator Theory, Photo, & ID Thre
had to.I couldn't take the shame of being scolded by the headmistress.
the navigator phase has passed I realised it looks way way too much like someone elses even though it's a 1000 times better looking with a pickguard.i was just pissed at the sticky* greco finish but that's been rectified now.i took a wild guess it was a 380. *no i haven't been jacking off on it like a slash fanboy |

You think it looks like mine, really?
Totally different IMO (minus the pickguard aka training wheels of course ).It is funny that you do not see a lot of 380's with highly figured tops. Most are subtle broad flames or just plain tops with some nice sporadic figuring/marbling. Perhaps that one you pictured is a 480? |

Could be a 480, or what is now a 580. They have the in-yer-face flametops.

Cool think about those is there were only 31 (or was it 32?) made so they are a rare collectable. @ JDB We are all a little clueless on the serials man Have you tried to email ESP and ask them? Maybe Wulf can? |

Looks like prices are moving up. I'm glad I bought mine in time.

Re: The Unofficial Official Anything ESP Edwards & Navigator Theory, Photo, & ID Thre
Yeah pretty sure Doublecut is AKA JapanStrat
![]() No, I just think the seller is being a greedy bugger is all, Brazen I have a good laugh at the Japan sellers mentality I think they seem to believe if something doesn't sell for their initial asking price, asking more somehow will make others think it is worth a lot and buy it....never seems to work. If something does not sell, I generally drop the price a bit...not raise it $1000 ![]() That won't sell for that price I do not think, but if someone really likes it and is willing to then I suppose everything has a price It seems the 335 Navs go for around 70-130K from what I have seen over the past few months, been an influx in their appearance too |

Re: The Unofficial Official Anything ESP Edwards & Navigator Theory, Photo, & ID Thre
Seems like the same one is being offered on Rakuten for less.
Rakuten: Founding anniversary sale - Free Shipping - new stock disposal I have never ordered through them, but I believe everything on Rakuten is international shipping. I remember reading somewhere that it was ESP's attempt to fill the hole between Navigator and Edwards, to compete with Tokai's LS-160 but it may have been no more than a speculation from some guy on TF. I'm sure they set out to prove something though and that they're very well made. I don't think they sold very well though since I've seen many turn up on sale, and if only 30 were made then why can you still find new ones more than a year after launch? At that price you can buy used Navigators all the time. |

Re: The Unofficial Official Anything ESP Edwards & Navigator Theory, Photo, & ID Thre
I'm curious what the neck will be like on the Navigator 335. I hope not too thin but at the same time I don't want to allow myself to get too hung up on just one neck size. I have a couple of guitars that sound great and that have thin necks... I feel I should just learn to adapt to them.
As to Japanese sellers, my favorite is always the note at the end: "if you're the fussy type of person / of a neurotic nature / etc. please refrain from bidding". |

Re: The Unofficial Official Anything ESP Edwards & Navigator Theory, Photo, & ID Thre
As to pricing, I haven't come around to selling stuff yet, but I think a 1-week time period can be too short to auction relatively rare, thinly traded items. If nobody happens to be in the market for your product that week (as we saw with the blonde 335) you can end up with a really shitty price. So my own inclination would be to set a reserve price that's at the higher (but not crazy) end of the range and wait a year if I must for someone to come along who is really keen on it.
I've actually won auctions where I felt sorry for the seller because they were obviously clueless and failed to get even half of the fair price. |

I grew up in Louisiana & did a lot of fishing in my younger years. Selling anything, guitars included, is a bit like fishing. You have to have an item that is attractive to the audience you present it to, your technique will appeal to some & not to others, you have to be persistent, some times you will get lucky and get a bite the first time but at the end of the day, it only takes one that is willing to be hooked to close a deal. ![]() As a general rule, sellers should not list an item for le$$ than they are willing to accept for it; that's just being a dumb seller IMO. |

Re: The Unofficial Official Anything ESP Edwards & Navigator Theory, Photo, & ID Thre
Not sure if I should post this here, but let's forget these fancy-schmancy Navis for a minute and get back to basics with Leo Fender's masterpiece of simplicity.
Edwards E-TE-120 relic: 2-pc body, SD Antiquity pickups, switchcraft selector/jack, CTS pots and PIO caps, including on the volume pot like the old teles. The odd thing about this Edwards tele is it weighs more than any Edwards LP I have had. I have had a Fender MIM Nashville tele for over 10 years, but this is a class above. ![]() ![]()
