The MIJ Classifieds: please read the rules before posting...
I had this idea a while ago and emailed the mods, but they never got back to me.
Hopefully this will be stickied at the top of the page and will be visible at all times. I think it's much better to have an ongoing thread of this sort, rather than individual MIJ related threads in the main Member's Classifieds section (which may be missed by members who frequent here). As for the ground rules, it's pretty much the same as the main Member's Classifieds: 1. Post items for sale, for trade or which you want to buy. 2. Each new post must state where you are and what kind of price/budget you have in mind. 3. You can just post a link to your thread in the main Member's Classifieds section if you want to. 4. Do not crap on or discuss someone else's item in the thread. 5. Pictures are always good ![]() I'm fully prepared to see this fail miserably or not even get stickied, so let me know if this is a crap idea and I'll pull the plug

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread
I think the link has to be really stripped down for them to work on here for some reason or maybe not
sometimes they work sometimes don'thttp://cgi.ebay.com/_W0QQitemZ230586656066 Looks like this forums software is changing the ampersand (&) character so links are rendered useless, easiest way to post working links, which is a pain in the ass, is by posting http://cgi.ebay.com/_W0QQitemZ and adding the item number at the end of that link http://cgi.ebay.com/_W0QQitemZ230586656066 |

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread
Great idea
![]() I'm having a gear clear out soon with the intention of financing either an Edwards E-LP 130 or an early 80's Greco Super Real, an EGF 850 or 1000 maybe. I'm not confident about buying from Japan so would rather deal with somone from the forum and pay a bit extra. This could be just the ticket! |

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread
When I first got the guitar, I decided to change the hardware to silver, put it in the shop for a new bridge and received this....to be honest, I can't tell the difference.

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread
I have been a member of many online forums, most of them related to music, musical artists, or guitars
In all of my years as a forum member in multiple forums, I have probably sold, and/or purchased two guitars via a forum transaction I have been an eBay member for nearly 11 years, and have hundreds of transactions via eBay If I want to sell something, eBay will offer me the best potential for advertising exposure, and also for a quick sell & a top price If I want to buy something, I know where to go for that too In the end, having a place here in the 'Other LP' section is really no different than listing, or buying in the MLP Classified It's just more to keep up with IMO .................. |

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread
Fair comment, but it saves people having to go over to the MLP Classifieds (where MIJ-related stuff is more often than not drowned by domestic ads for USA Gibsons). We'll see what the mods do either way - I'm not fussed if this is deemed "non-kosher" and is put to the kerb.

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread
I think this thread is a great idea. I respect what Rich is saying about Ebay but I personally hate navigating the main MLP Classified page looking for MIJ deals. This forum is where it's at!

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread
I have been buying & selling since I was a teenager; not just musical equipment either
![]() I sold the first guitar I ever sold at age 16, and I sold the first amp I ever sold at age 18. I am 50 as of last month. let's just get this fact outta the way; I HATE EBAY Having said that, eBay is a huge phenomena, and as much as I & others may hate eBay, there is absolutely no other selling format, venue, etc., that will consistantly get you the exposure, or the top selling price if you are selling an item. Sell your crap where you wanna sell your crap but eBay will get you the best price for your crap, when you wanna sell your crap YMMV .................. |

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread
here you go ...
Edwards Les Paul MIJ - Rare 1990 model - Vintage (eBay item 170603647666 end time 25-Feb-11 10:36:23 AEDST) : Musical Instruments open to offers for trades too - i'm only interested in LP's or SG's with fat, 50's style necks ... that is the only reason for me trying sell this - it has a slim 60's style neck!

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread
Not a bad idea Andy but, I think one classified is enough really. I've sold 6 MIJ last month here and it's saved me from shelling out a ton in ebay fees.
The other LP section also, includes, replica's and other LP guitars that aren't MIJ. Should there be a seperate classified for those aswell?

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread
I like the idea of this thread a great deal. It's not always the most convenient thing to browse ebay and the MLP classifieds. Plus I think the communication with the seller will be a lot easier for anyone considering an item but has a few questions.

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread
I like the idea too. I posted a couple of guitars in the classified section and they got buried to the second page in about four hours. This is pretty helpful to those of us who strictly like the MIJ stuff.
