Re: MIJ Classifieds thread

I have a very clean Burny RLG-50 Black Beauty that needs a new home.

Click on the photo to see more pictures...

-This guitar is likely an '85 model based on the pot codes and it is very similar to my '84 RLG-50 plaintop.
-The frets are in great shape
-There are a few small dings on the body and two tiny ones on the back of the neck. The finish is extremely glossy and has very little wear. Both strap buttons have been moved and the original spots have been filled.
-Other than that, this guitar is in beautiful shape. The original pickguard is gone, replaced with this black one which I think looks really good.
-Pickups are original.
-I'll have to break out the scale to get an accurate weight but my guess would be 8.5-9LB.

Price:

-$800 + shipping, payment via Paypal gift.
- Guitar will be shipped in a padded gig bag.

PM me if you are interested.

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread

Good question! I think they look amazing with a three ply BlackWhiteBlack pickguard. I've gotten plenty of compliments on that one when I've gigged with it.

Too bad they didn't make 2 ply rings...black with the edges bevelled white underneath..that would look goof on that.

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread

i know it's not really a substitute, but when you find the shape of teles and strats to be uncomfortable, it's a good alternative

Freudian slip...I was think about you when I typed that I suppose.
Not risers, I am talking about the upper edges of the rings.
Paint em black and scrape the edges.

Here is a link for some sound samples (excuse the sloppy playing). If you click on the U2000 pickup demo main clip you will hear bridge (clean first--tone and volume up full, then dirty), middle position (clean and dirty) and neck (clean and dirty--tone and volume up full). The other two U2000 clips are the same and give some different samples of bridge, middle and neck with small song pieces. In these samples the tone is rolled off slightly on the bridge only.

I want to bump this back up. Price drop $100. I just used them Fri. night for their first US gig (just bought the guitar from Wulf awhile ago and had some minor issues to fix). They really cut through nice--especially the bridge. I used the middle position on a guitar for the first time in a long time too. The neck is dark but has a nice tone. I did put in a lower value cap (neck only) so you may want to do the same (the original was a .022...very dark).

I have an ST-80 that has all the goodies along with an original case, so that is the keeper. I got such a good deal on a Super Real SE-800 that I don't mind taking a bit of a loss to have someone else have them. Tokai has been making all kinds of new strats and teles recently as well.
