Odd thing is I never looked in the control cavity, only the pups and saw the APH-1 so I figured it was a 1000D but the 3 piece back vs. the 2 piece as per the catalogue made me wonder as too did the seemingly ebony board.
When I opened the cavity today to take pics I noticed the APH-1's were newly soldered in, not factory but I suppose the could have been pulled and replaced upon selling.
This could well be higher model because of the ebony board. What does the catalog say which pups are in a 120 then?

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread

Didn't test it but feels like poly, 99.9% sure.
Neck profile is very much like my 1979 LS80; in between a '59 & '60 average neck thickness.

That's a beauty mate...if I was after a GT I'd have your hand off at that price. Good luck with it!

Hey gents, searching for a nice Custom for a few weeks now but am unlucky or unsuccessful. And before I go for a buy from Japan wanted to ask whether there is something in your stock you are willing to part with. Europe preferably.

Already looked at those. I'm not in the UK but have a good mate in North Wales who might "go through this" for me. However wasn't able to get hold of uita.

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread

I'm here on a daily basis, no need to use Ebay to just ask a question. They're all pulled now as I have all the cash I need for booze.

If your mate asked about shipping, sorry had farrrrrrr too many questions about shipping. Can't see why as the listing clearly stated NO POSTAGE and DON'T ASK ABOUT POSTAGE!!!!

FS: Orville 1998 Goldtop Les Paul

Selling this guy as I've got to make room for recent acquisitions:

MobileMe Gallery

1998 Orville Les Paul Goldtop guitar. Upgraded pickups and tuners, with Schaller Strap Locks -- the original Japanese pickups have been upgraded to Seymour Duncan SH-1 PAF Style pickups in both positions, and the tuners were upgraded from green key style to Grover/Gotoh style tuners, both done professionally.

It's in overall great shape, no cracks, breaks, or repairs, and excellent condition structurally. There are some dings in the finish, as pictured, but nothing that affects tone or playability in any way. Fretlife and neck are in great shape. It's a very resonant and solid feeling guitar. The guitar comes with a non-original Hardshell case with gold fur inside.

Asking $750 or best offer for locals, or $800 shipped and Paypalled.
I can meet locally in Midtown Manhattan, Jersey City, and sometimes Central Jersey on the weekends.

Thanks!

Just send an ebay question on the white custom - it is lovely. But since it;s not for sale anymore - - I have to look somewhere else
If you're by any chance going on the stag to Slovakia, be sure to bring an axe, I'll buy it

What brand is the case? Were all the electronics upgraded or just the pickups?

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread

The case does not have a brand, it's a nicely fitted case with a gold plush inside. It's in great shape. Only the pickups themselves were upgraded, the rest of the electronics are original.

IMO, It would be great if everyone posting here would adhere to these requests.
Is that too difficult folks?

Nope not at all, let me have a try:

Searching for a nice Custom (Burny preferably). I'm located in Slovakia (Central Europe) and want to spend around 700e.

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread

Suppose it's probably close enough to make a start now;

Firstly, I'm in the UK. At the end of the month I'll be looking to buy a new guitar. Currently I have my eye on an Edwards from RichTone in Sheffield (LP92SD or LP98LTS) and I have got some plans for it (remove pickup covers, change the pots and caps, maybe remove the pickguard).

BUT if someone would rather my hard-earned money went in their pocket and not in the pockets of some guitar-store mogul, then why not try to sell me YOUR guitar?

So I'm looking for the following;

  • Les Paul style guitar
  • Made in Japan or USA
  • Natural finishes only (dark sunbursts, natural or lemondrop style preferred) so no GTs, Black Beauties or other solid colours
  • Humbuckers please, no P90s
  • Good (or even great!) condition, playable out of the box, no visible repairs
  • As close to original as possible with original parts included where modifications have been made
  • Ideally a fitted hardcase, original if possible but not that bothered
My budget tops out around £750 or so, but I'd like to spend a bit less if possible so I can pick up a half-decent computer interface for recording. Sorry for being so picky, but I might as well shoot for the stars!

I'm happy to believe that everyone on MLP knows more than me about guitars, so I'm happy to listen to advice on what I should be looking for!

I'll be wanting to buy anytime around Easter weekend (29th April onwards) and I'll happily travel to inspect/collect (within reason).

Re: MIJ Classifieds thread

This is a mid 70's Matsumoku made no name SG. It was likely made during the '74-'78 period where Matsumoku was cranking out these guitars under many different imprints. The pickups are a GFS Vintage 59 in the neck and an old Duncan '59 SH-1 in the bridge. The guitar has a really fast neck and good action. Comes with the original hardshell case. This would be a great guitar to mod the heck out of or a nice player guitar for someone who wants to leave the top shelf stuff at home. It appears to be missing the backplate in the pictures but it is actually a see-through plastic cover. Has the original double ring tulip style tuners as well.

$300 shipped to the CONUS. PM me for more details.

It's a black Burny les paul custom. The more desirable pickup version (VH-1). Comes with HSC. Plays better than my Gibson Les Paul Florentine Limited. Sounds a tad bright for a les paul, which I like. I'm pretty sure it's a mahogany body, maple cap and an ebony fretboard. Might be rosewood though.
