Re: The Unofficial Official Anything Burny Theory, Photo, & ID Related Thread

Andy, not commenting on any particular guitar but IMO the really nice examples of quality MIJ are not going down in price

I believe this has a bit of a carryover effect on the other MIJs that may not be as desirable, and prices on these are also holding their own

the fact remains that as more & more people get on the MIJ band wagon, the supply is still the same; finite

IMO prices will continue to hold their own & the price for the really nice ones will continue to climb

it is inevitable

this is a big reason why, over time, I have gravitated toward higher build spec guitars

I see your point Rich and I agree... The only difficult part is taking the money out and spending it on something that will have to be sold to get it back... If that makes any sense?

And Harold... You're just too quick for me! If the Burny isn't as good as the Edwards, I might be interested

Re: The Unofficial Official Anything Burny Theory, Photo, & ID Related Thread

of course one certainly has to sell an item to recoup the cost of purchase & hopefully once the sell has taken place the seller is at least at a break even point

a loss for instrument rental isn't such a bad thing, as it allows one to explore many options at a minimum of financial loss

free instrument rental is nice

a profit is even better

nothing about that is really difficult .................

Nothing special. Didn't want to buy it but to my surprise Sat accepted a very low offer on his P90 equipped 1980 Greco EG800.

It is a LG75GR for sure for it's a Fujigen made Burny; control cavity shape and Fujigen pots. The only Burny ever made by Fujigen is the LG75GR. Pups & caps seem to be changed.
The first run of LG75GRs features pots from 1989/1990. I can't read these pots properly but it looks like a mix of years. Can you tell me the first digit of the bottom row on each pot? Also: heel cap?

Yeah it's a GT with p90s... I've been gassing so hard for one recently!!
And yeah the Greco is lovely but it doesn't have p90s

Don't think I'll be selling it anytime soon lads, but it'll be in the classifieds if I ever do
