Good thing I didn't blow my guitar allowance on the ObGs yesterday.
Today I got a package deal: old solid state Roland amp, Pearl vintage distortion pedal, tuner and an old Greco at BIN:Monday night special

I will finally get to hear what these "Dry 82" pickups are all about.

Yeah, she is fine with it as long as I do my share of taking care of our kids. I am lucky to not live in a typical Japanese apartment. They are still sharing a room for now.

I found the same distortion pedal for 6300 yen so it is not like an old tube screamer, but should be interesting. I wonder what year the guitar is, I have seen an example of the 82's having the Dry-Z pickups with DRY 82 stickers on top. Good thing the seller knows nothing about guitars. There was actually a "make and offer" button as well for the listing.

Thanks Marcus, thankfully the seller contacted me for payment already. I had my doubts for such a cheap price.
I can only assume it will come as pictured with case and whatever papers those are since the seller is throwing in a tuner, distortion pedal and old Roland amp. His other auctions are a set of tyres and outdoor fan heaters so I am guessing there was a warranty card or some other thing in the case with the model number as we have enough of a hard time here figuring out the model numbers for that era.

Hopefully it will be home for Christmas.

Reckon it might the seller is right about the model number,seems to know his stuff.3-4 piece back,no feb.
I would buy that guitar just to admire the top

That was a bit of a fixer-up purchased early October for a decent price from a real shop I found doing some Japanese web searching. It was an unidentified model with a gold bridge and replacement tuning peg but said Super Real. It also had a few pots replaced. After it arrived the front PU-2 turned out to be dead (I admit I did remove the pickup to have a look, maybe I broke it somehow?). I finally managed to get a tuning peg (that was donated by an EG 700 Super Sound), an old SG tailpiece and bridge, and 2 PU-2s purchased separately off YJ and finally wired it up a couple of weeks ago. Funny thing is the pickups are out of phase in the middle position but sound fine separately. I don't know if I need to rotate a magnet or rewire anything but will leave it for now.

It has a big fat neck and is a solid guitar, probably like your 1000.

I need to keep myself busy for a few months.
but that greco.damn I don't usually go for flames but something about it just said BUY ME and when I threw the price in xe converter ($650AUS) I was like DAYUUUUUUUUM I made that much today just selling parts from my junk box!
I'll be nervous as hell with it though it's about twice what I normally spend on a fiddle :P
