Burny LeS Paul "Super Grade" good deal??

Hey Guys I ran across a Burny Les Paul "super grade" for around 800 with an epi case. The guy says it is an 80's model. The flame is really awsome on it. The Hardware is kinda faded. Does this seem like a good deal?? I've been wanting to upgrade from my korean epi standard to something more gibson like.

Thanks

Re: Burny LeS Paul "Super Grade" good deal??

So anyone in here have a Burny?? Super Grade?? LP?? How are they?? Compared against the Takai, Orville Models?? This is supposed to be an 80's model made in japan Burny. It looks pretty effin sweet. I'm on the edge to drop 800 on it. Short or long tenon has me on the edge. Any ideas???

Re: Burny LeS Paul "Super Grade" good deal??

I love mine, it's a '96 RLG-75 and that's in the ballpark for what I paid. It's a really great sounding, well-made guitar that I'm having a hard time putting down lately. As long as it was in VG+ condition and didn't play like a dog (somehow seems unlikely, QC seems pretty high on these), I wouldn't hesitate to pay $800 for an 80's Super Grade.

Re: Burny LeS Paul "Super Grade" good deal??

I have a 1983 Super Grade, started a thread recently.

Sound-wise kills everything else I own and probably all the stuff I owned, too.

The only annoyance are too tight drillings for the pickup cables. Sucks, Need to get rid of it

I'd insist on pix of course, if it wasn't a local deal where I could just go check it out.

I once owned a mid 80's flametop, stunning build quality and looks (including a very tidy fretboard with fret edge binding) but it weighed a ton and had the slimmer neck profile so had to go, had the serial number in the bridge p/up cavity btw, doug.

Wow, lots of interest in Burnys around here lately... 800 for that guitar is a good price. Make sure it has the original pickups, fret-edge binding, and that the laminated top isn't lifting. If those all check out, I'd buy it. Here's a link to my Burny arsenal.

Sorry ... can't recommend a guitar which I've never seen in details - although it seems to be a Super Grade ...
I'll get out ...
Good luck, mate ...

Re: Burny LeS Paul "Super Grade" good deal??

Hi

The Burny "Super Grade" is a excellent guitar. I spent almost three hours testing, Epi's Tokai, Vantage, and Hagstrom models to get the LP sound without parting with my pension!! The 'Super' was tops and even some shop floors tecs were really impressed when I brought in my find to let them hear for themselves. I have a fernandez sustainer effect unit inside, and may change this and get some new pups, but these original ones are really great. I just don't need the effects that often...and like to experiment, at this price £297 GBP I can do so.......its a winner ( I use Line 6 POD XT Live direct for most regular gigs now, but have a Laney LC 30 II and a small pedal board with Xotic AC, RC, BB stomps -awesome!!! - Boss Chorus and Guyatone delay)

GET THE SUPER..today!

Re: Burny LeS Paul "Super Grade" good deal??

Hey! I'd buy it! My Burny is better than most Gibsons I have played over the last 30 years. Greco's, Tokais they're all fantasticly made guitars!

Heres the thread when I bought mine:

My New/old Burny RLG 50

They're fantastic guitars, I won't ever get rid, I don't think theres anything for the money that could rival mine. No upgrades either, stays in tune and stands up as well as my Gibson and my brothers too!!

Good luck
