Sticky acoustic's neck

Hey.

I got kinda sticky neck. Is this the best way if i use steel wool to wipe that finish off?

Before you go steel-wooling anything I would recommend you wipe the guitar with a rag and if possible some fretboard conditioner or cleaner. Just make sure not to over apply.

I have found what works the best for me is 0000 steel wool, lightly. Just a few passes at a time. Then I spray some finger-ease on the back of the neck and rub it back and forth until it is nice and smooth, soft, and fast. There have been some guitars that I have had to do this to several times to get just right. Remember there is no going back after you have done it though. YMMV.

Well for clarification..........I would try fretboard's advice first.... I thought that it would go without saying that you should try the non-permanent method first.
