I really like the HG series from Japan. I've owned a couple of them that I got from Ebay and sold locally for double what I paid for them. I think the HG-320 was the top model and was endorsed by Hank Jr. IIRC yours should be solid spruce top and rosewood back and sides.

Re: 1978 hohner acoustic

It's not an HH320, they were hand built in Japan for Hohner and had abalone inlay logo and almost everywhere on the body and neck. If you go to the Hohner museum from Google, you'll be able to locate your model. Does it say it's hand made in Japan for Hohner? Does it have a V shaped binding splitting the back center of the body? An HG320 had solid spruce top with mahogany neck and rosewood sides and back on body.

Price range is all over the place, but the right guy will pay a sick amount $ for a nice one with OHSC. I'd say no less than 700.00 in good shape and up to 2K.

Hank JR was playing an HG310 on the ad, which is similar to the HG320 but has a 2 piece rosewoob back and alot less Bling/Salad.

Re: 1978 hohner acoustic

I have both the HG-320 and the HG-310 models and the guitar "schmidty123" shows in the photos on post #4 is neither of those models. Did you ever find out what model Hohner you have? If you look in the sound hole at the center spline brace it will usualy have the model burned into the brace or the paper lable will give some reference. It should say where it was built (Japan,Korea,Etc.) someplace inside the guitars sound hole. Is the volute scallop shaped?
