Frankenstrat
I tried my best to copy it precise. I realize that some people on heremight not like Eddie here but to me Eddie was killer.
Anyway I only have to put two of the reflectors on (lost one and snapped the other one in the wrong place) and drill the quarter. Otherwise I have an all American parts guitar except the tuners (Schaller minis) and the Floyd Rose. Both are made by Schaller in Germany and I would imagine the screws are made in China. Pickup is hand wound with 500 wraps then dipped in paraffin. Shielded pickguard with the tone knob as the only knob, which controls the volume. The body is northern ash and the neck birdseye maple. I have to relic it just a little more, cigarette burns in the headstock and of the like. Sorry for the quality of the pics but they were taken with my cell phone. I am thinking on putting it on ebay and if I sell it I will buy a new camera. Maybe start another guitar too. ![]() ![]()

Re: Frankenstrat

I have one of these on order from Meanstreet guitars. It wont be ready until the end of January. I got ot loaded with the new EVH pickup and an original Floyd. By the way yours is missing the quarter above the bridge.

Re: Frankenstrat
Nice job. When I was a kid Eddie was the most exciting guitarist i'd ever heard.

Re: Frankenstrat
Not bad at all! How did you find out about the 500 winds on the pup? I know he used to wind & pot them himself. I've read a few times that it actually shouldn't work, but it does.

Re: Frankenstrat
Nice work, bro! There's just something magical about the Frankenstrat.
![]() Below is my own tribute to that legendary axe. It's a Warmoth build. The goal wasn't to relic it and try to reproduce the original in detail, but rather to capture the essence of the guitar, along with a couple of my own touches (including naming it the "Warbird"). It has the EVH signature humbucker, which sounds absolutely fantastic. I am very impressed by that pickup. This guitar is just pure straight-up fun on a strap. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Frankenstrat
No and before you laugh at me I drilled the pilot holes for the neck, not big enough and I didn't have the right size bit handy so I was only able to put the screws in a couple turns, I was anxious to get pics taken to show my brother and it is pulling the neck over. Once I can drill them right I can tighten them properly.
