I worked on that for weeks, trying different application methods and media, finally got one that all of us agreed on and went from there.

Re: My newest build and new logo

we are thinking about charging $800 for this model as is, and offering upgrades like ebony board, 24 frets and choice of pickup for $900-1K.

I loved making this guitar, I have several more like it that I am working on as well, some with a tele body, some with 2 humbuckers.

The whole process is just fun and I think great USA made custom guitars shouldn't be extremely expensive.

I'll take one of those black single-cuts, with a pickguard, and a p90 in the neck.

You need to sponsor a guitar player in Arkansas, doncha?

Re: My newest build and new logo

Heh, I'm clear on the other side of the state from Ft. Smith, pretty country, as we've talked about before.

I think I'm gonna have to scratch together the money for a new amp this fall, but come tax season... who knows!

I gotta say... I love your style, lpj. It's a good meld of metal and vintage, not too pointy so as to turn me off. Can definitely appeal to both camps, and the minimalist nature of it is just really cool.

So are you planning some flashier models too?

Jason- oh yeah we are gonna do some for the metalheads, the wild paint schemes and all the great things that made the old Kramers and Charvels cool.

The older I get and my style changes I find the less is more approach really appealing.

Re: My newest build and new logo

McMurray- just a handful of these are in the works for now, I have 10 of them in the process of either getting finishes applied or still getting hand sanded and prepped, necks getting fret dressing and fitted.

I am working on my nitro finishing technique, wanting to do a more vintage/aged look to the necks.

Love em' man, I'd love one like above! Will you be doing any of those with a vintage trem? Something like the one above with a vintage trem and a Double Creme with pickup ring Dimarzio Super Distortion would be the biz' for me!!!

Anything is possible, I have 4 double cream Super D's in the shop, I am looking for some wood to do some more bodies, and making some refinements on the routings.

Sweet.

I gotta be honest about something....I know that right now it seems like Les Paul model guitars are incredibly popular, but I have a sneaky suspicion that in today's economic climate...superstrats are gonna make a comeback!

I'm diggin' that guitar, Junkie!

Re: My newest build and new logo

I have to ask. What's the rationale for using a FR trem without the locking nut?

Re: My newest build and new logo

Rock- Using staggered locking tuners eliminates the need for the locking nut and string trees, you get the same tuning stability without having to use tools to adjust the tuning.

Production models will also have a trem nut (Tusq graphite) and probably a Hipshot tremsetter to return the bridge to zero accurately.

Cool. I'd never really thought about using a single-locking bridge before.

I like it.

Re: My newest build and new logo

I have decided that the price on these guitars is going to be $800 w/o case and $950 with an SKB66 case, shiping will be based on your location.

the one in the picture is the first of the series, I am constantly refining the finish and other components on them so each one will be a little different.
