"The Dice Collection"

Well, I drug... most... of my guitars out today for a photo op. I've got a couple more electrics (PRS copy and Strat copy - possibly one or two more that I'm not thinking of) and a hand full of acoustics (5-6ish) in "long term storage" with my brother. These are the guitars I have hanging out in my jam room - plus a schecter acoustic which I didn't pull out.

Please excuse the old Futon backdrop, as well as the ugly wallpaper! I'm back in school, so we're renting right now (we've got a great house - but the wallpaper is... corny).

In no particular order, we have:
Epiphone Les Paul Goth w/ Duncan Distortion bridge pup and PIO caps
Epiphone Les Paul Custom w/ Tonepros bridge
Epi Elitist Les Paul Standard w/ GFS Dream 90 Neck pup and PIO caps
Epi Elitist Custom with GFS Mean 90's and PIO caps
'69 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe - Refin w/ P90's
Gibson Custom Shop '58 Reissue (R8) w/ WB ********** and PIO caps
Epiphone Casino
Fender Roadworn 50's Strat
Fender American Vintage '57 Strat
'65 Fender Jaguar
Squier Telecaster w/ GFS hardware
Ibanez Talman w/ Dimarzio Evolution bridge pup
Ibanez EX350 - my first guitar
Jay Turser bass - just to have a bass

AND, I have a Rist Tele in the works right now. I'll get a good outdoor photo of the entire family once it arrives!

Re: "The Dice Collection"

That's a lotta guitars!

Nice Ibanez Talman by the way. I always thought those were cool, and I'm a sucker for both Bigsby trems and sparkle finishes.

Re: "The Dice Collection"

Thanks! The Talman is great - relatively unknown as well. I love the neck, and it really pulls off a convincing Les Paul and Strat/Tele sound. Neither quite as well as the real deal, but both are damned decent and all in one guitar! The Bigsby is fun as well.

A 13 man guitar front, 1 bass player and a drummer - that would be one hell of a show indeed!

Re: "The Dice Collection"

A disease, for sure!

14 years worth in this picture.

How much? I could have one early 50's GT for what I have invested here...

$17,500 or so including upgrades. Well worth it.

Re: "The Dice Collection"

Thanks Cap'n! The Casino was rescued from a guitar shop window in Korea in 2003. I walked by, saw it in the window, and couldn't resist! I hadn't played at all for about 3 years at that point, so that one really got me back in to guitars. I only had the 2 Ibanez guitars then - both were back in the USA in storage. It had been sitting in the shop window for a couple of years and has considerable sun damage. I think it looks GREAT w/ the "tan lines," though.

Naw, I was thinking more along the lines of a power trio -- you, a bassist and drummer. And you doing a different song with each guitar. Yep, I'd pay to see that one!!

Dice, it's always nice to have an Ibanez shredder in a collection. Awesome man!

I cut my teeth on that guitar - it was my only axe for about 4 years or so.

It needs a fret level and a setup... I'll get it done eventually! I put new pots and cap in it a few weeks ago, and cleaned the rest of the wiring up a little bit.

4 years?! Wow. A close companion, eh? Better have one of those to tell the kids stories about.

Yup... I got the Talman and a Gibson LP Studio (which I no longer have) 4 years later - along with an Ibanez 7 string (gone) and an Ibanez Iceman (also gone - wish I had it back). Took a few years off - and then got the rest of them since 2003. I sold off a Strat copy, ESP F100, and PRS SE Custom this year as well.

Better shots of my first 2 Axes - the blue Ibanez EX350 and the Ibanez Talman.

(Strap buttons are off- I had to cannibalize their strap lock buttons for other guitars...)

And the Strats:

Oh, I'm loving the Bigsby on the Talman! Should I do the same to my Epi LP Lacquer? Do they sell gold Bigsby?

Oh - for the reord - that futon is NOT our bed... As badass as it would be to have $20k worth of music gear and a $200 futon... that is just the couch/spare bed in my jam room! My priorities are out of whack - and my wife is pretty damn cool - but she is not so cool as to sleep on a Wal-Mart futon while I blow all of our money on guitars!

They do - PM Dennis - they make a Bigsby model that requires no screw holes in your guitar.

The Bigsby is cool LOOKING - I can't say that I use it all that much, though.
