Fret Dr. on a strat neck?
Hey.. I was curious. I know fret dr. does wonders on fretboards and I wanted to know if anyone has every applied it to the back of the neck on a strat and did it do anything?

Re: Fret Dr. on a strat neck?
If it's finished it won't do anything; if the wood is bare it will certainly condition it.
I would think that your skin oils would do good enough though. ![]() BB

Re: Fret Dr. on a strat neck?
Is the back of the neck sticky? If so just polidh the crap out of it, if it still doesnt suit you lightly sand the back of it to the wood and apply tung oil or boiled lindseed oil ( those oils will harden when cured) putting fret doctor on the back of a poly finished neck would have the same effect of pissing on it....it'll just roll off. If its nitro however...I'd check with a skilled luthier or painter first....as the oils could react in an unpleasant fashion.
