I like their Corsair based on what I've seen so far....

Re: Schecters
Got a bargain on one a few months ago.
A C1-FR. I wanted something to toy around with, active pups. I really like it. Schecter builds a surprisingly good guitar. The active pups are very quiet, and the FR can be amusing. I want to get it set up right, but the action is nice, it's well balanced and very inexpensive. It was 2 months old, and I snagged for $300.00. |

Re: Schecters
I have a wall of them at the shop. We started selling them a few years ago, and they have become our best selling line.

Re: Schecters
I prefer this:
![]() To this: ![]() Only reason I got the "shreddery" Gryphon was that I was desperate for an electric and the only guy who would accept my weird trade was REAAALLY into Schecters. Plus I played it and it felt incredibly nice, aside from needing some slight adjustments. We don't have a lot of brand name instruments in my town, but at least one of the shops has a whole wall of Schecters, mostly the more retro styled ones. |

Re: Schecters
I've played a few schecters in the shop, mostly the C-1's. They're great for the price IMO, they play almost effortlessly and the pups scream.

Re: Schecters
anyone tried the demon series?
I'm thinking about getting me one to use as a drop C guitar with FR. They sound really nice and look stunning to a great price. How are the necks? raw or painted?

Re: Schecters
i fell in love with the 006 about 10 years ago...still want one with that body style - probably a 007 as im getting more interested in the 7 string craze. i know im a bit too late as nu-metal has shifted into long-scale sixes, but i still like 7 strings.
wouldnt mind an avenger 7 or tempest 7, though the tempests 7s appear to be extremely rare. |

Re: Schecters
I have a Gryphon. My gosh is it a solid guitar. 3 years now, lightweight, fast neck, stays intune and I love the pickups.

Re: Schecters
As the sig says, I've got a C-1 Classic and absolutely love it. I started with a Gryphon and loved that as well, but I wanted to get away from the bolt-on neck. I said it in my intro here on MLP--I think Schecters are the best bang-for-your-buck guitars out there right now. Look at the Classic--neck-thru-body construction, Seymour Duncan humbuckers (JB bridge, SH-2N Jazz neck), TonePros locking bridge, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, great pearl inlay, mahogany body with a quilted maple top, binding on the body/neck, 24 frets, Grover tuners--all for under $800. How can you beat that?

Re: Schecters
Oh, and they have leftie models for just about every one in their line, which is hard to find these days.

Re: Schecters
Does Schecter still make the Pete Townshend model? I was always fascinated by PT and fact he went to Schecter in the 80's. I've heard awesome things about them but have never laid my hands on one.

Re: Schecters
Nice looking guitars, I've never played one. I saw a bunch of them at the music store the other day though.
