Squier P-Bass Problems

Hey, I recently got a squier P-bass and i noticed that it makes a buzzing sound. However, when i touch the strings, or other metal parts of the guitar, it stops. I had brought it over to guitar center and they said that nothing is wrong with it, they said they couldn't even hear the buzzing. I've tried several different amps and different cables and they all buzz.. Does anyone know if this is normal? If not, any ideas on what it is? I told the guitar tech it might be a grounding problem but he tested all the parts and said they were all grounded.. Thanks

Re: Squier P-Bass Problems

It is the ground. It may be caused by ambient conditions, such as televisions, fluorescent lights, electric motors, computers, or even old wiring in the walls.

Re: Squier P-Bass Problems

Would there be a way to stop the buzzing if one of those problems is causing it? (shielding tape, etc) because it does it in all the rooms of my house, or maybe a higher end surge protector?

Re: Squier P-Bass Problems

There is some kind of a device that suppresses the buzz, but I forget what it's called. One of you ex-spurts out there help this guy out!

Re: Squier P-Bass Problems

I've seen noise suppressing pedals by boss, I might have to go try one out. Thanks!
