Ukelele
Hey guys any Uke lovers here?
![]() It's weird but my wife Ms Gem12 is GAS'ing for one. I 'm not sure which one to get and what to look for in buying one. They just got back from HI (Family Reunion) and bought one from there but she's need to get another one. I think she got beaten by the Uke GAS bug over there, so please help. ![]() PS I don't want to spend too much on this.

Re: Ukelele
They range from $49 to over $2,000. I would spend at least $100 to get one that will stay in tune. The one I want is about $300.

Re: Ukelele
I enjoyed a Uke, but Randelli is right. You need to spend some money if you want one that will stay in tune. I have a cheap $50 model and it's fun for a few minutes and then it sounds terrible.

Re: Ukelele
I enjoy playing my uke. Got a cheap one a couple Christmases ago.
It is hard moving from a guitar to the little fretboard of a uke but for some reason the chicks dig 'em.

Re: Ukelele
I bought a Mitchell uke from the GC several months ago. I think it was in the $150 range or so. It's good for what I want if for, stays in tune and works for me. They're fun.

Re: Ukelele
I've only used ukuleles for live productions which was a lot of fun! The best one was probably a Samick with a deeper body than regular which gave the sound some much needed (IMO) depth.
Not really top shelf stuff though, I had to tune up just before we went onstage and then I just had to hope for the best! Luckily the uke numbers came pretty early in the first act both times. I'm beginning to feel a ukulele craving coming on again... I miss it!

Re: Ukelele
I really like my Fender Nohea Koa Tenor ukulele. It cost me $200, but always sounds great.
