NGD (Jimmy Page Danelectro), New Wall Paint Day, New Guitar Slat Wall Hangers Day

No more ugly wall paper! No more awkward individual wall hangers! New Guitar Day! (Jimmy Page Danelectro; I know it is not a historic LP, but there are plenty of pics of other historics in this post!) Surprisingly, this little $400 guitar is amazing. It feels like it weighs about 5lbs. No joke! It sounds just like the one Page owns IMO. And it was built for slide! Although I am not a slide player (yet), it sounds like Page in 75 at Earl's Court (IMTOD) and in 79 at Knebworth (Kashmir; another tune I need to learn). It makes me wonder if I have been paying too much for all of those nice Gibsons!!! Anyway, if I could find a Page Black Beauty LP, I would have most of the Page electrics....the ones I want anyway.....might save some room for a Page #3 if they ever make one. Probably ought to get a Tele or a Strat....not yet though. After I move a couple of these, it will be Pages on the top row and Braz on the bottom!....anyway, here you go.

Very nice collection.

I have a 90s version Dano and it is a tone monster, and it cost peanuts!!

I bet you have played "White Summer" on it already

I am a huge long term fan of Page's tone and i can tell you you must get a Mexican or Jap 6os Telecaster with rosewood board, they are relatively cheap as well and are extremely versatile.

Page has used Telecasters far more than Strats on recordings over the years.
As you know he created Zeppelin's classic heavy blues type sound from the start primarily with that Yardbirds telecaster

And most importantly, with a good setup and better/ hotter pickups you can get a Zeppelin 1 and 2 type tone- not to mention a latter Yardbirds/Jimmy tone as well.

I will get one eventually; For now, I have a nice single coil option on my Page #2 LP (though i never play it b/c it is a signed model); and I get all the other full humbucker sounds of Heartbreaker, Bring It On Home, Moby Dick, and WLL.....but for sure, I will get a Fender one day

Very jealous of your wonderful collection. Big fan of Page myself. Had the chance to play one of those Danelectros years ago, but never did. Will have to change that some day.

the 2012 models have the same bridge / tail piece that Page put on his; and they allegedly improved the pickups. Can't beat it for $400 shipped!

I bought Hercules hangers; did not buy the diamond life hangers. So I don't know about them

Hey John, your wall looks like a pic of a Guitar Center. I have a MIK rosewood bridge Dano and it's surprisingly fun. Love the badass bridge. Mine is stuck in DADGAD for when I feel like Kashmir. What made you take the plunge? I remember you saying a while back that you were offered one for free and turned it down!

I would have still had to pay for shipping & it was over seas. So I am not sure how much that would cost. Plus this new one has the bridge Page put on his and they supposedly have improved pickups on the 2012 model. Every time I watch Earl's Court IMTOD it makes me want to attempt playing with a slide. One day I will get around to it now that I have the guitar.
