NGD Taylor Acoustic

Been gas-ing pretty hard for a new steel string acoustic and I pulled the trigger today. I had to sell a Strat to get it, but I never played it anyway! I played quite a few acoustics today and it came down to the Taylor 814 or a Gibson Hummingbird. They both played great and were in the same price range, but frankly I'm sort of tired of the dreadnought look so I went with the Taylor. So without further adieu, here is my new axe!

I think it looks, plays, feels and sounds sweet butter!

Re: NGD Taylor Acoustic

Taylors are solid guitars. Congrats dude!!!!! That thing will last forever if you look after it. I recently got a 210 and for fingerpicking it has much more clarity than a gibson. I own a hummingbird and about 7 other gibson acoustics. They win on the strum but for bright picking sounds the taylors do it for me.

Re: NGD Taylor Acoustic

Thanks everyone! I'm really enjoying the low even action and the balance of low-mid-highs. It's been a while since I've played a steel string acoustic so much. I've played my fingers raw in the last few days!

I used to have one of those, did you get the brown gator case or the black?

(I got the brown and thought it was amazing! )

I didn't think to ask if there was an option. They gave me the black one with some plush red internals. It's actually a pretty frikin sweet case!

Yer you can say that again; prolly the best case I've ever had with any guitar!

Re: NGD Taylor Acoustic

Looks great Taylors are nice guitars. Acoustics are very expensive though if you look through the big hole in the front its mostly air in there

Re: NGD Taylor Acoustic

Thats really the only thing left i need to get, is a high quality
acoustic like that.

i like that shape better than the dreadnought, gives you more room
for playing high up on the neck, and i think looks cooler

Taylors are great. I love an OM-sized body, too.
