Show Your Acoustic Guitars!!!
Hey guys I'm new here. I'm not going to be posting in the Les Paul section yet as I don't own one
(Yet.)So I'll stick around here, and I was interested in seeing some cool Acoustic Guitars. So here is mine. This is a 2003 Carlo Robelli Acoustic Electric in Coffee Burst Finish. I didn't buy this in 2003 but it was given to me as a gift from my older brother a few weeks back. I just had a full set up done on it. ![]() ![]() ![]() Hope you all enjoyed! |

Re: Show Your Acoustic Guitars!!!
Awesome guitars!! I knew I shouldn't have clicked on this thread. I am gasing badly for a new acoustic.
Top of the list.....Martin 00015M. Nice guitar John! My sights have shifted. ![]() This is the only pic on my PC of my lone acoustic. Seagull S6 ![]() Martin OM21. Sold this one because at the time I didn't play acoustically too much. The fact that I love the Seagull and I was able to sell this for what I paid for it made it easy. However I still miss it.

Re: Show Your Acoustic Guitars!!!
Here are a few of mine.
Gibson DSM was a great guitar for the value. it's since been sold. Same with the Taylor 310ce. In the middle is my 2002 D28. That one I'll keep forever. And the 2 Harmonys were passed down to me from my great Aunt and my Grandmother. One's a 1960 the other a '61. They used to play together when they were young. I plan to keep them and pass them on to my kids. Second and third pictures are of my Blueridge BR-283. Now that is a beautiful guitar! and Awesome sounding. Made with BRW. |

Re: Show Your Acoustic Guitars!!!
I used to be a strictly acoustic player, for like 20 years. Down to one main acoustic, a Martin OM-21 that my wife gave me for xmas back in '99. I love this guitar, when I pick it up its like putting on a pair of perfectly broken in blue jeans. Unfortunately for it, once I went over the dark side/electrics my poor Martin just isn't getting the play time it deserves. I'll have to make a point of breaking her out more.

Re: Show Your Acoustic Guitars!!!
i find when my playing on electric gets a bit sloppy/imprecise, a steady diet of acoustic guitar,
after about a week or so, autotunes my technique – plus i enjoy the sound of a non–electric i must admit, it does not help i run hot and cold playing acoustically

The only time I don't enjoy playing acoustic is when I'm in the mood for balls-out rocking. Other than that, anything I do on my electrics gets played on my acoustic as well. |

medium jumbo frets on all my electrics, super low action, half–step down tuning = after a while, i get lazy, reckless, and less mindful until the "Taskmistress" whips me back into shape

Re: Show Your Acoustic Guitars!!!
That's a really important thing, to me. I'll change my style for a nylon-stringed guitar, but if it's steel-strings, I'm playing what I always play, more or less, and to me the mark of a good guitar is whether it can accommodate that.

That's cool - for me, each feel a bit different so they inspire different flavours... even playing my Fenders vs my Gibson Electrics brings a different feel. I typically run 12's on my acoustics with low action, as I'm up the neck almost as much on them as my electrics... And with my electrics, I rarely play open chords, but on the acoustic I like the long ringing sustain of them.

Re: Show Your Acoustic Guitars!!!
Well, my electrics get 11s and my acoustic usually has 13s, although sometimes it's 12s. I don't play shredder stuff anyway ... I mean, I have fast runs in my playing, and go for those on acoustic as well, but they obviously don't have same smoothness as they do on my electric.
The only thing I do on acoustic that I don't really do on electric is contrapuntal fingerpicking (and that with not much skill ). Everything else is fair game, though. I love taking songs out of their original context and seeing what happens.
