what to do, maple or rosewood neck on strat

i can't decide between the 2 necks, curious what you might think. guitar is a highway 1 stratocaster. both feel quite similar so it's pretty much a cosmetic choice.

Rosewood makes a Fender look like a Gibson wannabe.

Can someone explain why Fender puts that brown stripe above the nut on the rosewood boards? For looks alone?

Don't know why it's done that way...sure there's a reason though.

I like rosewood on Telecasters, and I'd like maple on Strats...but I don't like Strats.

I'm about to sell mine because my old Peaveys are better.

maple fretboards give a bright tone, rosewood boards give a warm tone, so yes there is a difference besides cosmetics.

On that particular guitar I like the look of the rosewood. It contrasts nicely with the body and the headstock.

On a white or black strat, rosewood all the way. On the one you posted, the maple looks better.

Re: what to do, maple or rosewood neck on strat

I've never really been a fan of rosewood on strats. However, that is subjective. If you hear any tonal differences between the two definitely give whichever sounds better to you a lot of weight in your decision.

I have both Maple and Rosewood necks. I prefer the Rosewood if I'm using it with an Ash body. But for Alder, I don't mind using Maple necks.

Re: what to do, maple or rosewood neck on strat

Ummm....both of those "necks" are maple..., one has a rosewood fret board, sorry if it sounds nit picky but thats something that has really been irking me a lot lately for some reason. Rosewood necks are out there, and often way up there in cost as well.

If it were me I would go for a satin finished maple board.
