Incoming G & L custom order. the waiting commences...

trigger pulled.

2011 G&L Bluesboy Semi-Hollow.

Ash Body - blackburst with wood binding.
#3, vintage tinted quartersawn neck with painted black headstock, rosewood board.

as i hung up the phone, time seemed to slow...

this is the second time in my life i've ordered a guitar new, my first time with G&L.

it took a lot of time and trial and error to arrive at the specs i chose. so needless to say i'm pretty psyched.

yeah at first i was all about the function over the form.

but then i was like, well hell, it may as well look the part too.

(i wasn't going to do the painted headstock, wood binding or vintage tint neck, then thought live large and prosper). lol

What kind of wait time did they quote?

Love my ASAT. Biggest frets I've ever seen.

she said 12-14 weeks.

but she said that she has to say that.

i'm hoping for less but i'm ok with whatever, it gives me something to look forward to.

it should look like this but with a tinted neck and a F hole.

I've got a Tribute Bluesboy (body and neck made in Indonesia, but hardware and pickups made in the US). It's a really fantastic guitar. I'm sure you will be very pleased with your purchase!

oh i'm sure i will. i'm psyched.

i ordered a new high end guitar a couple years ago from prs. it ended up not being the guitar for me but it was basically flawless.

funny enough both guitars are basically a trans black type of finish.

that one was a charcoal smokeburst 513.

i cancelled the tinted neck option. i think it would look odd with the wood binding being a different tint.

My brother sells G&Ls. He has a blackburst (ASAT?) in stock. Awesome to see it in person, you'll dig it. I did.

G&Ls are so much better than people think they are.

Re: Incoming G & L custom order. the waiting commences...

I love the fact that G&L will allow you to order a custom guitar in a lefty and not have to pay Fender Custom Shop prices.

I ordered a G&L ASAT Bluesboy about 12 years ago. It is a beautiful guitar and sounds terrific.

It will be well worth the wait.

I also have a G&L Legacy. Almost ordered a Custom Shop Fender Strat to get the vintage blonde in a lefty,
but then found out that G&L could make me the same guitar at 1/3 the price.
It came with a white pickguard, but I had a black shell pickguard made for the guitar.

Olds442 and tattooed hands like this.

Thanks. Blue is a rare color for any lefty guitar. Not one of the standard offered colors for most lefties.

My brother had a blueburst Fender Tele Plus with body sculpture (like a strat) and single binding and it looked awesome. So, I ordered my G&L in blueburst, but decided on the dual body binding. It is one of my few guitars that makes my brother jealous.

I think I waited about 4 months for it and it was well worth it.

You are going to really like yours. Mine, even without the semi-hollow F-hole, is not a very heavy guitar. Yours should be very comfortable to play for extended periods.

Hopefully, it will arrive sooner, rather than later.
