so, which is you everyday main axe?

Not neccesarily the best looking, but the one you prefer more to play. I have 2... squier daphne blue stratocaster

and squier tele custom II. The combination of the p90´s, 4 knobs, 3 positions, light... and the metallic tele sound is huge through tha p90´s.

Re: so, which is you everyday main axe?

I have three main guitars these days:

A 2000 Gibson Les Paul Classic, 2009 Fender Roadworn Telecaster, and 2011 Fender American Standard Stratocaster. All modified with aftermarket pickups. The Les Paul is the baby though and if I could only grab one in the event of a fire (god forbid if that happened) it'd be the one. It's the best guitar I've ever played. I've even played some vintage pieces and it blows them away ('68 Les Paul Custom anyone?!).

But I take no less than 7 guitars to every gig and usually two amps (Fender Super Reverb and Fender Twin Reverb) as well as my big pedalboard.

But those three are my main ones as well as my PRS Custom 24 which I also love. And then my Carvin CT6M, Ernie Ball Music Man, etc LOL. And my Taylor acoustic.

Re: so, which is you everyday main axe?

Same here. Depends on my mood.

But my top four go-to guitars lately have been:

1. "Blackfire" Gibson LP Custom
2. Jackson Dominion
3. Carvin CT6T
4. Gibson Iommi sig SG

The Gibson CR7 Goldtop that will arrive on Wednesday may very well end up knocking the Iommi sig SG off the list. We'll see...

Re: so, which is you everyday main axe?

My #1 for life is probably gonna be this '90 MIJ Fender Hot Rod Reissue, cause it looks and sounds like a Fender but plays like an Ibanez, thinnest neck I've ever seen on a strat, freakin love it!

My '83 Stn Am Strat. We've been all over the world since '83.

Over the years, I have changed a few things. I placed Noiseless pickups in the neck and middle, and a tone control, and mini toggle for the bridge PU. Now he kicks ass!

Re: so, which is you everyday main axe?

Mine could be any of mine--depends on my mood and what kind of stuff I feel like playing, and I try to make sure I play each one.

If there's one I never feel like playing--on a long term basis--maybe something needs to change?

But that's never happened--so I don't know...

Re: so, which is you everyday main axe?

I always go to my telecaster in the moment. I love my LP, but the neck always feels like sh*t after the last session and requires cleaning. I just cant be arsed with it lately

Re: so, which is you everyday main axe?

My everyday main axe-changes almost everyday. Good problem to have I guess. I really struggle over which guitar to practice/gig, do I bring a second one just in case, and then the worry over which rig to bring.

Re: so, which is you everyday main axe?

I use these two the most...
for practising my finger picking (mainly classical) and playing live, this is my hand made classical guitar by the luthier Tony Johnson

For practising mainly jazz and blues (and also teaching) I use this guitar. This is a hand made gypsy jazz guitar by the luthier Roy Eneas

This is definitely my 'go to' electric guitar because it is my favourite. It is a Gretsch 6120 Hot Rod and I use it if I am doing a rock and blues type gig.

My main guitar for about 2 years now is a Nashville Deluxe Telecaster. Although, I find myself playing a recently aquired Schecter PT quite a bit lately...so I dunno....

I can never choose...at home I probably play the black MIM Tele and the Edwards double cut the most.

Lately my Aria Strat has been getting a lot of attention. After doing a setup on it it's proven to be a very fun guitar to play.

Normally, for rocking out, it's my Slash VOS.

But if I am feeling more Jazzy/mellow, it's one of the PRS - On the left, Private stock Santana II and on the right, the Modern Eagle II.

Main gigging guitars

But recently I have been using lighter guitars and have gravitated towards these three

That heavy amp has gone since too.

Re: so, which is you everyday main axe?

For gigging and recording, blah blah blah, I use these two. An Epiphone Wilshire and an Epiphone Les Paul, both tuned to Drop B. Sometimes I'll maybe bring a 3rd guitar just in case if it's a longer set though with the other stuff we've been writing I may need a 7 string tuned to drop A to bring along, haha. Normally for the final song in the set (which is in Drop Dflat/CSharp) Stick Stickly, I just take whatever guitar I'm using and tune it up to that rather than have another on the side already in that tuning, a 1-2 minute intro thingamajig plays over the speaker system before the song starts so that gives me time.

Usually it's my old Strat or my 95 Les Paul.... It's all about what I'm into at the time.
