NGD - PRS Custom 24 Ltd.
Here is my new pride and joy. I got it from Private Reserve Guitars. First, my thoughts.
OMG! This thing totally outplays all of my guitars except for my '00 Gibson LP Classic, which is my baby. But this thing has the best QC, the best tone, the best pickups, etc. Just the pickups go for 1k on eBay all the time (57/08 pickups). I love the tone, the looks, the playability, everything. PRS is making the best production guitars these days. Fender is making good ones too. But I'll never buy another new Gibson unless things really change. I don't see it happening anytime soon. Here are some pics, as it isn't complete without them. ![]() ![]() Merry Christmas to me! I bought it for myself as a christmas present. I can't wait to see the look on my other guitar player's face in my Eagles tribute band when I show up to our next gig ripping it up and showing him up with this little beauty! I absolutely am a believer in high end PRS's now. I bought the best one I could get short of a Private Stock. I'm just not ready for a PS yet, maybe in a few years. Finances are one thing that's holding me back, another is that I really don't "need" it now, and I could put that money to other more important things. So PRS is my new found love and I absolutely fully endorse them!

Re: NGD - PRS Custom 24 Ltd.
I can only encourage that GAS. The are superior instruments. The absolute best I've played (other than my old Gibson), it is just stunning to look at AND play. Usually you give up one for the other, but now I can have my cake and eat it too!
Hope you get one!

Re: NGD - PRS Custom 24 Ltd.
Thanks! I found the 57/08s on ebay going for close to a thousand! Whoever buys a set of 57/08s on eBay is taking a screwing!
Probably a case of that they are raising the price so people can get them without the guitar, or maybe getting more money for them because they can get them on eBay. Glad to know the real value - as I'd be pissed if I paid the $800 or whatever they are going for on eBay to find out they are worth less than half that!

Thanks! Red happens to be my favorite color, and I'm a sucker for red and cherryburst finishes and I saw this Fire Red Burst I had to have it!

Re: NGD - PRS Custom 24 Ltd.
You were right LPSG, thats a beautiful looking PRS. I can only echo what you say about what a quality piece of kit a PRS guitar is. The colour and flame in the top of yours is stunning. And it's good to treat yourself once in a while.

Re: NGD - PRS Custom 24 Ltd.
Thanks! I really dig this one. It might be the 57/08s that are in this (I'm thinking thats why its a limited edition, most 24s come with Vintage Bass and HFS Treble). The pickups are very clear but can get really dirty.
PS: Are you a Skynyrd fan (I saw your screename)? I really like Skynyrd, especially the "Street Survivors" lineup (Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, and Steve Gaines).

Thanks! The more and more I play it, the more and more I realize I'm going to be getting more PRS guitars in the future.

Re: NGD - PRS Custom 24 Ltd.
I saw a buy it now for them on eBay for close to that. They are 57/08s. But as R9 told me, and I found out their value is closer to 400 bucks. They are just selling them high on eBay because PRS doesn't sell them outright unless you pay their tech center to install them.

Re: NGD - PRS Custom 24 Ltd.
Absolutely. Those guys were/are great. My personal favorite is Allen Collins. He's what got me into Explorers. But I'm a HUGE Steve Gaines fan.
