ES 339 Memphis Tone Electronics?

Hi, anyone know what this is?

Treble bleed or 50's wiring, or...

I posted the same question over at the Les Paul Forum and The response was nothing more than 50's Style wiring. Memphis Tone Circuit has a better ring to it I quess.

I think it alludes to the fact that things only work half as well in Memphis....thats all I can come up with because the volume control in my 339 works about half as well as it should. Rolled back just a hair it cleans up dramatically (which is good that it cleans up) but after about 6 on the dial its useless. I will say that I'm digging the pups in the there, and overall I'm blown away how cool this guitar is. The electronics are an easy fix. Local Gibson rep also advised these are going to become regular production models soon and no longer coming out of the Custom shop. No biggie.
