SG pickguard questions

I've wonder about this for a long time could I take an SG standard and put a 61 pickguard on there?

They are not interchangeable and you'd be left with holes all over the place.

to elaborate, there is a routing hole between the pickups on a Standard that would have to be filled, so even if you could live/fill in the screw holes, there is the routing hole to fill.

The bridge route is extended on a standard as well. Here's a pic of my naturalburst 2007 standard without the pickguard removed to demonstrate.

No one said it can't be done. It can be done but the chances of everything matching is slim, unless an opaque color is used. If a cherry finish is applied the patch WILL show !
