Guitar idea fro Gibson
How about building an sg thats thick as a les paul with a maple top and mahagony body and neck?
Oh,and no chambering.Weight relief holes ok. Did they ever try that one yet? Nice,thick ,sg.

They did the diablo a while back. A thicker SG I guess. I can see these getting popular if the right rock star starts playing them.
