These can be found used for a song and a dance! A real sleeper deal!

Re: A Custom Shop Guitar for Scratch!

I 100% agree... I nealy got one on ebay (red) for around $1500, but didn't have the cash.

I tried a natural one a whle back, sounded SICK! Really agressive and biting with the Burstbucker 2 and 3. Huge 50s style neck. I was impressed!

I'm still looking, want a black beauty, but they seldom come up in the under 2K slot, but patience is a virtue right?????

Re: A Custom Shop Guitar for Scratch!

I had one of these and got talked out of it by another player, but it's cool, he seriously needed it, and it suits him to a tee! Mine was a TV yellow one with 3 p90s, and a custom shop decal. I already had a 68 Fbird 3 that I liked so I sold it to him-it gets some thick tone-he uses it into a Matchless DC30 and the tone is just to die for-It has a lot nicer build quality than the 68, as well as a wider neck. However, the newer one is very thick and smooth sounding, with very even note response. My 68 barks like an angry dog, wants to forget anything about reproducing the B string along with the rest, and just generally sounds angry and fights you all over the neck. But, when you get it right on that 68, almost nothing sounds as primal and untamed.

Great freakin guitars and Warren really uses them to excellent effect,IMO.
