NGD - Jeff Tweedy SG
The Jeff Tweedy Signature SG I ordered from HelloMusic.com arrived today. It's a very interesting guitar. The vibrola is surprisingly stable. And the sound is really something else. Right off the bat, I noticed I didn't care as much for my overdrives and distortions at my usual settings which I love on my LP, Kauer, and minibucker guitars. I'm not sure what it is, but I probably just have to redial in the gain and EQ. However, cleans sound really amazing. Lots of character. And lighter gain sounds very good, too.
Also, the neck feels fantastic and the resonance of the guitar with the vibrola is very pleasant. The setup is great right out of the box. I'm very happy with the guitar even if it doesn't mix as well with my Les Pauls. The Pelham Blue (or whatever color it is) finish changes a lot in sunlight versus lower indoor light, as you can see in the photos. I feel like this one is the representation of what the color looks like indoors. Also you can see the wood grain through the paint. They must have forgone the filler on these. ![]() This is a little more what it looks like outside. ![]() The back. ![]() And my semi-artistic shot.

Re: NGD - Jeff Tweedy SG
Congrats on the new JT SG!
I got a chance to play one of those the other week and I was really impressed. I loved the satin finish on the neck - really smooth and nice feeling. A nice looker, as well. I saw Wilco two weeks ago and Tweedy played one of these on three or four songs. It sounded killer in the mix and had a lot of presence. |

Re: NGD - Jeff Tweedy SG
Those are stunning guitars. I had sort of thought I'd be over my SG lust since I have so many guitars now, but every time I see one of those it comes right back.
Congratulations! |
