Re: all explorer's thread ^^
I think Sean had 3 different ones at certain points, but there are/were a lot of guys on the ESP board that have one or several of them. There's a guy from Norway that bought 5 or 6 of the used ones from the board.

Re: all explorer's thread ^^
explorers and v's are wicked. i keep thinking about selling these and then always stop myself. i don't play either that much but you got to love them. the thought these came out in the 50's is amazing, so far ahead of their time. i hope i behave and never sell them, i would only regret it and already have enough guitars on my "one's that got away" list, no need adding these.

Re: all explorer's thread ^^
I really think, my NewCentury is the second best looking/sounding/playing Explorer I came across so far - right behind a white '84, which is, more or less, some sorta fanboy thing...
![]() I pretty much love all of her, especially that ebony fretboard, the satin finish and even them screws, which adds a pretty technical, modern appeal... just fits IHMO. It's rare, it's big, it's bad, it's black. |

Re: all explorer's thread ^^
I've seen one of those... Had 3 P-90s, a camo paint job and I think a Kahler. I think it was the Explorer III or something.
Oh look I found it! http://www.oliviasvintageguitars.com...n/guitars/412/ |

Re: all explorer's thread ^^
My last 2 axe acquisitions are gonna be a Korina V/Explorer pair. Prolly gotta get em done as Replicas, cause the prices for Gibson Korinas are outragous right now.

Re: all explorer's thread ^^
Nice Explorers posted so far!!!
![]() Here are my two Explorers; a 200? Gothic and 2009, I love them ebony fretboards! I was going to sell the white one for the Gothic, but there was no way that was going to happen once I played them side-by-side and found that they really complemented each other sound-wise. The Gothic is much more "aggressive" sounding than the white one, which has a much more LP-esque full-bodied tone to it. ...My wife did not approve so much with that decision, so I tried to point out to her that we didn't get rid of our first male child when we had our second. I believe that was one of the first times she actually called me "stupid". ![]() Anyways, here's the pr0n of the Explorers:

But: will you have to approve a third child when you decide you have to have a third guitar...? ![]() Perhaps you should've gone for her shoes instead for her child...^^ |

We've taken "corrective measures" to prevent another child ![]() ...However, I have purchased another 6 or so guitars since that Gothic explorer, so I can't complain too much!

Re: all explorer's thread ^^
Ahh all of these explorers....
![]() I am waiting on my BYOguitar Explorer kit to get here so I can get that thing started. Black all over, maybe a raw neck with a stinger, GFS pickups (I love those cheap things.. Power rails, Fat Pat), Locking Grovers, stainless pickguard, chrome hardware, etc. I cant wait! It will be unique.

Re: all explorer's thread ^^
I'll have to get some shots of my Gothic. It's loaded w/the EMG KFK set (81/85 + PA2). I wired the PA2 to a push/pull A25k Vol. pot, and I run it as a 1 Vol, 2 Tone w/a treble bleed and 2 russian .01 uf PIO tone caps.

Re: all explorer's thread ^^
Great collection. I love explorers but they're only associated (mostly) with harder rock. It's kinda weird because they sound good for blues too, but you rarely ever see anyone playing them for that...or any other kinda music. Solid axe though!

Re: all explorer's thread ^^
Heres the one I'm currently building!
I'll probably put on a chrome pickguard and some chrome dome knobs. ![]()
