1964 Firebird V - ebay content

RARE 1964 Gibson FIREBIRD V original custom color BLACK!!! headstock repair | eBay

wow (the guitar, not the price).

I did not know they came in black in 64.

Is this a fake? I love the Firebird I almost more then any other guitar, and you almost never see them. This one looks a tad fishy..

I like Firebirds quite a bit. Damn nice guitars. The one thing I can't get over though is the price to try to buy a vintage one.

If I ever went to buy a Firebird I style guitar (or any Firebird variation), I'd much rather hit up Doug Kauer to have him build me one of his Banshees:

There's no way a '64 had an 8 digit serial number. Modern pots, refret/refin, all the other aged parts are bolt on.

So its not real? I absolutely love the Firebird I, simple, badass and freakin honks!!! LOL I'm sure its been touched on here before but if you listen to the end of White Room from RAH Cream '68 OMG does that bird sing!
