Is this SG real

I found this SG on a local ad, the price would really be good, but it seems fishy. I donīt know any Angus sig with this combination of features, headstock, lightning bolts, pups, TRC...

I wrote the seller an email for more pics, but I donīt have them yet.

Edit:

Maybe I was a bin unclear about "the combination of features". As far as I know there are two different headstocks for Angus models. One with the holly vener (new black one) and the older one with the painted Angus. Next is that the lightning bolts are only on the black model as far as I know.
None of the sig models that I know has uncovered pups, and there are even more things that dontīt match the models I know.

Re: Is this SG real

That model has all that.
Should be a 57 in the neck and the AY sig in the bridge.Ebony board, lightning bolt inlays.
Retail is $3400 IIRC.

Re: Is this SG real

Really looks like a Faded SG with either new inlays or lightning stickers applied on top of the dots and an ''Angus'' TRC.

I had that tought too, but a faded would not have a neck binding.

Re: Is this SG real

I thought all of the Angus sigs had the Lyre vibrato tailpiece and covered pickups?

Re: Is this SG real

Not all had the vibrato IIRC.
Covered pick ups yes.Not sure what in that one.
What has me wondering there is no tulip AY's have the tulip on the headstock.Faded models no not.
The one posted here looks to have a rosewood board kinda hard to tell tho'.

Shouldn't an Angus Sig with lightning bolts have a flowerpot on the headstock?

Re: Is this SG real

I would approach this very cautiously if some kind of premium price is involved. If it goes for about what an everyday Sg goes for (that has a neck binding); then play it and if it rocks, take her home!

Re: Is this SG real

I agree with the others -- it's a cherry faded special with stickers over the dots. Black bell knobs, plain black headstock, uncovered pups are the giveaway. Binding was probably added by the owner, or maybe that's a sticker, too!

So the question becomes: is it priced well for a special with some stickers and new truss cover?

Re: Is this SG real

Thanks for all the replies. The owner has sent me some more pictures (they are pretty big so I canīt post them quickly).
It really looks like it is a 2009 faded, that has gotten a new fretboard (itīs very dark, may even be ebony) and a binding. The binding seems to be well done.
The price is above a new faded. I will stay away from that guitar.

Re: Is this SG real

Just saw a used sg special (gloss nitro, brown)for $600 at the local guitar center. That's an honest price for a good guitar albeit from crooks...

Re: Is this SG real

Re: Is this SG real

Yea, need more pics. Maybe a Classic Faded, with inlay stickers, new tuners and a new guard with humbuggies (which would mean routing as well)?
