3 piece maple necks on 137s

Need advice from 3 piece maple neck owners. Got a new Custom, the tone is superb, the usual Gibson QC issues but a keeper. One question however as I never had a 3 piece maple neck. I noticed the middle part of the 3 piece neck is a little lower than the two outside pieces. No crack in the finish, just slightly depressed. I can feel the ridges on either side of the middle strip. Am I too OCD about the neck? Is it normal - just what you see in a 3 piece neck or a defect. Will it get worse? I am used to mahogany necks on my SGs and LPs. Thanks for your input.

The neck pieces on my 2009 137 classic are totally flush. You can see the different pieces under the finish but feels like one piece of wood.

+1, I have two and both are flush.

You guys are a great help. Thanks. It goes back and a new one from MF Private Reserve comes in. Nice guys and they will look at it before it goes out. The other store will not open the box and rely only on Gibson QC.

Im a stickler for mahogany 1 piece necks.

I should try a maple gibbo neck....
