Re: Your First Gibson!
Been a Fender player most of my 30 odd years of playing.
Teles mainly, but also other Fenders and their derivatives. Then just over a year ago I got this little MM very cheap ![]() I fell in love with its simplicity, solidity and playability Another Gibson joined it just recently ![]() I gigged with it for most of a set last week, and put my Tele back on its stand I think I'm crossing to the "Dark Side"

Its a good side to be on, sir. Melody makers are so good. I love buckers, but Ive loved the telecaster/stratocaster sound for blues. Being that my SN is what it is, I should explain: I dont get the sustain and feel of a gibby in a fender, and maple is too bright. I can feel my gibbies vibrate up the headstock, and I love it. Not to bash fender, I just wouldnt own one any time soon. (amps are a WHOLE 'Nother story) MMs give that tele bite, with the low end a gibby is known for. To me that is a winning combo. I played NOTHING but epiphone LP standards and classics till i scooped up the first of my 3 2007 double pup '59 reissue MMs. I now am in process of acquiring a TV yellow 2003 version of your new acquisition. Im very excited. I bought a '56 LP goltop Epi and fell in love with P-90s. This should be even better for me. I LOVE MMs

Re: Your First Gibson!
My first Gibson was a Marauder. Sounded muddy and had a bolt on neck so it went on down the line. Got some money and a vintage Vox wah for it. Still don't regret getting rid of it.

Re: Your First Gibson!
My first one. Bought it second-hand when I was just 13 (in 1974). I wanted a new LP Deluxe but couldn't afford it.
Still play it almost daily. ![]()

Re: Your First Gibson!
My first Gibson was my first guitar, and I don't know the model (& don't have it anymore) but it looked a lot like this one. It was 1961, I was 15 and wanting to learn to play and my Dad said if I was going to get a guitar, to get a Gibson.
Over the years, I've owned a couple of Gibby acoustics that have come and gone (sadly), and my most recent Gibby is my ES339 ![]() Also have an LP Standard I bought a few years ago.

Re: Your First Gibson!
First one. One piece body, one HB, perfect finish, Ebony Fretboard and gutsy as hell and also it's limited to 1,000 world wide.
![]() And in around 6 weeks it'll be joined by a 61 SG.
