Re: New Gibson Firebird! What's your opinion?

not only is this an ugly piece of shit but this must have been the most underwhelming launch of almost any new product ever, this guy is bloody boring.

Re: New Gibson Firebird! What's your opinion?

It looks cheap and nasty with those unpleasant metal switches/dials. The presentation was amateurish. The video recording on the Gibson site has atrocious sound, and adds to the "You Tube teenager video" impression. And the guitar is nothing unusual. Oh and it costs a bomb, which is appropriate since it is a bomb.

Overall, the whole affair is sad and pathetic.

Re: New Gibson Firebird! What's your opinion?

Those effects sound cheap and processed. The built in FX modeling on my older Fender Frontman is just as varied and far better. Not to mention it was only 150$.

I'm not sure why they thought this would "revolutionize" anything. Your Guitar still needs an amp, so if you get a digital amp that has FX modeling you don't have to use their uglyass expensive guitar which needs batteries.

I had to @the first vid, and couldn't make it through 10 seconds of the other ones!

Henry J has only helped to confirm one thing by all of this...

...he's a complete tool!

I think "Fireturd" fit's it quite nicely?

Re: New Gibson Firebird! What's your opinion?

this thing should be cheap...do I miss a thing...

for this money I will buy a les paul studio plus an axe fx ultra and can sound at least 100 times more versatile...plus I have the option not to use the fx and just go through my amp?

Actually, that looks like the same veneer that they use for the top on the "Dusk Turd"?

Re: New Gibson Firebird! What's your opinion?

I've been thinking about this for awhile, and I think I've got a good idea of what Gibson/Henry J has planned for the big "Dec, 11th" reveal:

- This (the Fireturd 10) is just a "test" to see if anyone will actually be dumb enough to fall for (buy) it. Which, from the initial response, will be hardly anyone at all.

- It will fail miserably (as I predicted earlier in the month), and Henry J will turn around (like he's done in the past) and make up some astronomical sales numbers to justify (in his own mind) a full production run.

- Next up: A full line of some of the UGLIEST (and useless) Gibson guitars to come out of the factory since the RD series.

- Bankruptcy

Re: Gibson Announces the Revolutionary Firebird X

At first I was just speechless, staring at it with my mouth agape...

That isn't a Gib...no it can't be...must be some kind of sick joke...

All the hype and this? THIS is embarrassing.

This IS a limited edition and will not be a mainstay correct?

Fine with me, hope they do, then we could just pool our monies, take over Gibson and make some REAL F'N Guitars!!!

Hopefully, but Gibson (or more specifically, Henry J) has maintained a pretty good record of destroying any hope we've had for Gibson up until now, so...

Is he the CEO?

Seriously, if I owned any Gibson stock right now, I'd be shorting it big time.

Edit: Just looked it up, no shareholders, it's privately owned...sad...just sad.

Fixed!

Don't forget, there are some decent used Gibsons out there. No sense in writing off the rest of them just because their new "guitars" aren't up to par?
