NGD! Upgraded Epiphone EJ-200 acoustic (electric)
After recently aquiring My Gibby LP studio, I have not touched my Ibanez RGR421. I threw it up on CL looking for an acoustic since I got rid of my Takamine GS330S and was now acoustic-less. Some kid offered me an epiphone EJ-200 acoustic. I was a little skeptical at first cause I felt like he was holding something back as I asked him questions. I went ahead and met with him any. I started playing the guitar and while I liked the tone, It really seemed to lack volume. But what's this?? He didn't tell me it was an acoustic electric...
. I went ahead with the trade because the guitar is really pretty damn good looking in person and the neck was pretty comfortable. When I got it home I could not believe how good it sounded plugged in. The electronics were extremely versital. Upon further investigation I found that Epiphone didn't even produce this model in acoustic/electric and also did not use this brand of EQ in their production anyway. I found the electronics online and they are Fishman Prefix Pro. $290!!! Not to mention they were professionally installed!! Not even sure what that would have cost. Anyway, Just thought I'd share my pleasant little suprise . I'm off to go play it again!!

It's not a bad picker at all. I do think I'm gonna clean the design off the pickguard though. Not really diggin' that!
Funny thing is, I'm playing it thru an old Marsall MG15DFX. That's a double score cause the little amp has been sitting around for a year now unplayed. |
