Is this thing legit? Japanese Epiphone

Not that I'm going to buy it, and I think it looks fine, except that the plastic on the back covers seems suspicious, after all, it should be at least three years old. By the way, do they make fake Elitist Epiphones?

The guitar in the photos is legit.
It's not an Elitist, though. That guitar is seven years old, actually. It was made in June 2002.
Still has the protection plastics on the back covers. Maybe it's been in the possession of a collector?
