FAKE Gibson Les Pauls (Chinese Copies)

I've just looked at a thread about Fake Gibson Les Pauls and I just wanted to show you where they are coming from. Be aware when you buy online that you are getting the real deal. Just take a look! they even have Made in U.S.A. stamped on the headstock. I even think people are buying these knowing that they are Chinese copies and trying to flog them on ebay at a higher price...

I'm glad everyone here has had a chance to look at this crap. Sorry, Mr.Jomo I have no intention on promoting anything that would be used to prey on the unsuspecting. I just wanted to do a solid to the members here, and as I'm new, wasn't too sure if y'all had seen them. I guess that the members having such a keen eye, they would have already noticed these. just wanted to make sure... Oh, LOL, If I promote KFC I guess that will give me an in with you guys? J/K,

I wonder how many on this site have Chinese counterfits... I would like to see pics of them and your opinion of the quality. Some may say "Why" but I am still curious.. I heard the chinese have come a long way in guitar building..really scary..they are going to take over everything.

I seen a played what was supposed to be a quality replica. It serioulsy was garbage. An Epi is better. For that fact I played a Stellar that was purchased for 200 new off of ebay. It played better than the replicas.

There's a local shop with a ZW bullseye hanging in it, which confused me because they had no other Gibsons and only a used Epi LP100 hanging among some Vintage Icon series LP shaped guitars. Couldn't figure out why they had a few thousand dollar signature fiddle next to the rest of them until I asked.
I guess it's MIC fake on consignment, so I asked to play it. The neck was terrible (back was painted and sticky feeling), the fake EMGs were terrible (I doubt they're even active, looks like EMG covers but instead of having stamped EMG painted logos they were just painted on

) and it played worse then any of the other LP type guitars in the place. I made a passing remark inquiring about what the guy was asking for it, for curiosity sake, and it was somewhere in the 4 digits...I just laughed, got some new strings and walked out.

You should report it to the police or Gibson. That is bullshit. Some poor sucker will buy it unknowingly and get ripped off. The person selling it should be bitch slapped.

I was in a local store last weekend and was a bit surprised to see a Bullseye hanging on the wall, as they aren't a Gibson dealer. So I asked the owner of the shop what they were asking for the used Bullseye. First thing he said to me was "it's not just used, it's counterfeit", then took me back to have a look at it. I never even bothered pulling it off the wall, but it was quite obvious upon closer inspection that it was a fake (thanks to things I've learned from this site). Like I said, the guy was very upfront about it being a fake, but it still bothered me. I asked him what the consignor was asking for it - $1000 bucks (Canadian). I had a good laugh, an told him I would go as high as $100, but only so I could smash the shit out of it.

All in all, it left a bad taste in my mouth, knowing my favorite mom & pop was knowingly selling fake guitars...
