Experts look at this with me please

I am looking for another J-45 and found this add on Craigs list and I'll be darned if I don't think it's fake. Never seen a fake acoustic but I have owned my share of these and this one looks totally different. The body looks more like a Hummingbird or even a Martin. A J-45 is a slope shoulder. Anyway, what say you guys?

GIBSON J45 DELUXE!!!!!

I'm no expert, but I've never seen one with J-45 on what would be the truss rod cover...

Re: Experts look at this with me please

I emailed him and his answer confirmed what I thought. He said the Deluxe isn't a slope shoulder like a normal J-45. Not saying it couldn't be fake. If it was a slope and I knew it was real, I'd already be on my way to pick it up.

I thought you could get the J-45 both ways, sloped or not...

Late 70's, early 80's Gibson acoustics were all based on the dreadnaught body, with the exception of the Jumbos.

That guitar is real.

You would at least get to hold it before you bought it unlike ebay. Also if you picked it up from the person's house you would know where to find him.

Gibson - Gibson Guitar: Round Shoulder

Edit, nevermind, wasnt aware there was a "straight shouldered" model.

Anyone know when they stopped making the square shouldered models?

That's exactly what I had that I want to replace.

Re: Experts look at this with me please

Everything I got when Googling says that the square shouldered J45s were only in a certain period but they dont make them anymore. Some say 80's, some say 60s & 70s. Thats about the best i could come up with.
