No, the amp is incredible. It has excellent tone. I really don't want to get rid of it, but unfortunately I have to be responsible.

Re: Peavey Classic 30

I'd damn near consider buying a second, as I love mine so much.

Best of luck on the sale - I'm sure that it'll get some bids. C30's are GREAT amps!

They don't make em in tweed anymore?
Is the difference to the original ones just the finish?

Nah, they do make 'em in tweed. I've seen them in blue as well as black - and the other day I saw one in a shop that had a beautiful polished wood box of some kind - I should find out what it was - limited edition of some sort and about $300 more than the tweed.

Anyways, they DID redesign the box/frame to some extent, but to my knowledge, they're the same old guts.

Here's mine:

lol my old one would be embarassing to photo... the plate under the knobs is so rusted you have to use a vague memory to remember what's what. Mine just says Classic 30 in the front the Peavy badge which was actually on the grille got tossed as soon as it was out of the box..... I was embarassed I had a Peavey back then....

Good stuff. I've got some cool old guitars, but no cool old amps. I never paid much attention to the C30's (or Peavey) until I got mine (on Ebay for a good deal - I watched a bunch of youtube vids to help my decision). They sound absolutely amazing considering the price. Great amps!
