82 or Older custom
Hi all, I'm looking for some advise/guidiance from my friends here on MLP........ Somethings been bothering me ever since I bought my LP Honey burst Traditional back in February! I wanted a LP Custom but just didn't have the funds. So I've been mulling this over in my head for awhile now, If I was to offer my 2011 LP Traditional and my 1987 Jackson/Charvel firecrackle model 4 would I be close on a trade or would I have to sweeten the pot some more "cash" I've added a few pics here of my guitars. Sorry for the quality of the pics, camera phone just don't cut it
Thx Kez Last edited by Kezman; 01-27-2013 at 01:41 PM. |

You're probably in the ballpark if you find the right person to trade with. That Lp is damn sweet, but you'd have to pay me to take that Charvel off your hands.
It's all about personal preference. |

Re: 82 or Older custom
I happen to love that firecrackle Charvel. The problem with it is it's the Japanese Charvel (Model 4) so price wise it's value isn't that high. Now if it was a USA Charvel that would be another story. Don't get me wrong its still a nice quality Charvel. I bought a brand new Charvel Model 6 back in the day and still have it to this day. The Charvel might be something to just hang onto instead of trading it away for little monetary value. Just my take on it

Re: 82 or Older custom
Those two guitars are so far apart in style you're going to have trouble finding someone who:
(1) Wants both those very different styled guitars (2) Has the custom you're looking for (3) Is willing to do a trade IMO that's a tall order and you'd be better off to sell your guitars, both, one or the other, and go from there. Good luck. Here's my '81 to help fuel your GAS ![]()

Re: 82 or Older custom
Thx for your feed back guys, One thing about the Charvel, there's a serial# plate on the back that says Fort Worth Texas? I thought I had an American made Charvel. Anyways I'll mull this over and if I decide to sell, then I will post them in the members classified section.
Thx again

Re: 82 or Older custom
All the Ft Worth, TX plated Charvels were imports. They were made in Japan as all the Model series were. This is a common assumption people make which is the Ft Worth plate means USA but it doesn't. The USA Charvels had San Dimas, CA plates. The Model series Charvels as they are called, are nice guitars regardless of where they were made. They just don't have the value of a San Dimas Charvel though.
