The '80 Norlin Custom I Kept...Closet Queen

After dealing away my '71, I didn't hurt too bad because this one stayed and isn't going anywhere anytime too soon.
Couple of shots below provided and the full slideshow is at the link.
Enjoy this one, it is 100% Dead Mint Flawless!Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket

Guess you can now tell why the pain isn't so bad.

Beautiful guitar, when you said mint you weren't kidding, even the stuff coming out of the factories now don't look in that good condition.

Only downside in owning that is I'd be too scared to play it, first scratch on any guitar is the hardest to swallow but on one that's be kept mint for 30 years!!!! Probably one of the reasons why I'm happier buying 2nd hand players rather than new.

Oh and yeah, I'm one of those guys who don't say MINT unless it is.
And this is! I'd like to call it new, but I played it "a little."

That was the first thing i said. You gotta look damn hard to find it. Guys when he says its clean let me insure you its scary clean. Great weight for the year and sustain and resonance like you wouldnt believe. It will hold a note for days and rings like a bell. Theres not a soul here, norlin haters included, that would not be impressed. Its such a nice guitar its hard to believe it hasnt had the hell played out of it

WOW!!!

I have an '80 Custom myself that is damn near mint, but nowhere near this kind of shape. My binding has yellowed slightly and the gold hardware is slightly tarnished, but yours looks like it rolled out of the factory yesterday.

Love the top on that one.

To listen to the neck pickup on it it screams Shaw all day. That perfect bluesy chubby creamy sound with good clairity. They sound killer. Typically neck pickups are what doom a set of pickups with my ears and i never use em. This has a neck pickup i could sit at that position all day. If i was a betting man id say shaws all day. They sound just like my old 81. I got nostalgic just playing it

Gotta' agree with you Brian.
I know this has been debated many times before, but I think this one can be determined by the tone. Has to be Shaw pickups IMO.
