NGD '81 Harvest Gold Custom
The only thing better than Silver is Gold.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() With the exception of the usual gold plating wear, the guitar is in pristine condition. The finish on it is odd, and I'm guessing this is why a lot of them were returned and painted black (so I read in some older posts on the forum form other members). Its feels tacky, like almost dry paint. You can see this best in the pictures of the back of the guitar. It's like someone brushed on a layer of clear coat. If you look closely you can see what appears to be streaks across the back of the guitar, like from a brush. It looks like pitting in the pictures, but it's not at all. It gives the guitar a flat finish, it doesn't shine like the finish on my '83. The guitar has amazing action. It's by far the lowest I've ever played and took a little bit of playing to get use to. It has a brighter tone than my '83 custom. I had to adjust the pickups when I 1st got it and lower each of the individual screws, as the previous owner(s) had them way to close to the strings causing it to easily distort under normal playing. It has the fold out tuning keys like the Norlin silverburst guitars, and 1/2 of them were about to come off, but a quick tightening of the screw hidden inside the slot for the fold out arm took care of them.

Re: NGD '81 Harvest Gold Custom
That harvest gold finish is weird, but it still looks stunning in a pristine guitar like yours. That side by side silver gold pic is just chock full of win man.
