You Know what....

Even if someone offered to trade me a new Historic reissue for my 73 Norlin Custom I would never do it.... I love my Custom that much. Even a new Clapton 1960 reissue.. I wouldn't do it. I have been in a ton of music stores, I have played some KILLER new Les Pauls, but none touch my baby...NONE.

Through the many threads posted lately, I can sense that "we" are becoming an even more close knit group.

Re: You Know what....

I wanna see the "70s nostalgia" craze when all our "old beaters" become the new Grail, with re-issues and everything. Why not. Fender is "re-issuing" their 70's CBS and "everyone knew" they were evil and horrible back then

I call BULLSHIT ! You would do it in a skinny minute ! Ah, just yanking your chain man ! I know how it is with a guitar you REALLY love to play. Hell, I have a '89 Korean built Epi that I don't think I would trade for anything less than a nice Gibby Standard model. I love everything about the thing and it sounds great.

Re: You Know what....

My VOS 57 Custom is a great guitar, but I would let it go befor my 71 Deluxe.
All down to how it feels.

Yes, me too. I had many Historics and i settled on 71 LP Custom. All Historics are gone, the best from them was 2006 57 LP Custom reissue. That was one of the most resonant and biggest sounding Les Pauls i had or played.

But i prefer early 70s Les Paul Customs over Historics for concrete reason and thats their fairly different tone character. I play more 70s rock and hardrock, so they suit me more.

I would be loathe to get rid of my '73 Custom as well.

Re: You Know what....

I don't have one but I have to agree that there is something very cool about '70s LPs. I want a '77 Deluxe in Wine Red with cream P90s. But it probably won't be for a few years so if you guys could keep the hype down 'till then, that'd be great.
