Yeah, here is a picture of mine.. The neck pickup is not connected. They actually soldered a wire on to make it look like when Ace cut his off..

That's some pretty sloppy soldering jobs judging by those 2 pics you've both posted.

Dan,just keep watching the Chinese fleaBay sites. I'm positive the banjo Grover's will turn up sooner or later...or you can just grab a set of the pearl buttons like I did.

On the subject of the banjo Grover's,how do you both like them?
I think they're great. So much easier to tune with due to the size. They just feel more comfortable which is why I'm changing all mine over to that style.

Similar to Angus' guitar. I will change the bridge pickup to the Gibson Angus model to get a little more closer to his tone.. My first guitar when I was 13 was an SG, now I will finally have one again!

That's going to be a long wait, but worth it.. No cracks in the finish.. I wonder if anyone has pictures of guitars that did crack because they didn't wait.. I would love to see a few..

Its a Chinese fake!

It looks like they simply forgot to stamp it. Of course many real 74's are difficult to see the Made In USA on them. My 74 LPC is white and you have to tilt it in just the right angle and light to make it out. Yours doesn't appear to have it but its only one picture. Is it perhaps there but very lightly and have you tried tilting it at different angles to see it?

On another note,my tri-set of custom wound double creams from Rayne came in yesterday.
I've spent some time this morning dialing them in. Very nice! They're everything I've come to expect from Rayne's winds: articulate & clear,harmonically rich,powerful yet subtle...they're just what I wanted.

Yeah, I'm just seeing that this run of 300 is going to result in guitars where there are slight differences between them.. Maybe all of the other signature runs were like this as well.. A 100 years from now, some of these are going to be questioned for their authenticity..

My 70's Reissue is in layaway, not here yet. In the meantime I've gathered up all the necessary cream parts, tuners, etc... to convert it into an Ace except for the cream Dimarzios. Those are next on my list and I'll have them here before the guitar arrives so that I can swap out all the black parts for cream as soon as it gets here

It wouldn't be the first sig run from Gibson to have differences within the run. On the Rhoads sig model they started with the correct Schaller tuners and partway through switched to Gibson branded "Schallers". I asked Gibson about why they did this and never could get an answer from them, including asking some higher ups at NAMM last year. While at NAMM that year I also asked Schaller who was there at the show and they were unaware of any Gibson branded Schallers for that run. oh well.

You can get a Budokan for $5000...

Some of the same reasons the the Epi Standard LP is $350 and the Gibson Standard LP is $2500.
