Post pictures of yer quilted instruments

I don't own a quilted top, but I've seen some masterful examples out their in recent years. Anybody have a quilt that they can show?

PRS and Carvin have blown me away with some of their wood choices.

I found these on the net:

As strange as it may seem, they all sound differently. The green one is alder/maple/rosewood, and is very bright and tight (the Floyd doesn't take much away in terms of sustain). The blue one in the middle is mahogany/maple/ebony, and is very smooth with a nice crispness in the top end. The Carvin at the bottom is alder/maple/ebony, with DiMarzio ToneZone/Air Norton, and is a nice middle ground sound between the two. Most of the time, I prefer it to either of the ESPs (both with SD JB/59). All 3 are neck through.

Re: Post pictures of yer quilted instruments

Here's my extremely neglected backup, ec-1000. It sounds and looks good. Tone-pros hardware, Sperzels, active EMG's, Set neck, and case for under a grand, don't get much better then that. Has enough abalone to supply a gypsy convention, and the neck is about a million times too thin for me (especially after player an R7 & R8). But I can't bring myself to part with it.

Sweet looking piece! I know what you mean about the neck too thin. I loved thin necks, then fell for an R4 and R9. Now I can play the fat necks of old with no problem, but could not ply my Burny Les Paul any more. The neck was just too thin for me, so I traded it for the Eastwood Sidejack.

Yeah, it's too bad about the neck. The guitar is great for the heavier rock/metal shows, but the neck is just not right.
