Brian Moore Guitars - Anybody????
I've been offered a guitar today in trade that I never knew existed. It is a Brian Moore i2000 series (i9f to be specific). I can't find a ton of info on them but it seem that the general opinion of these guitars is that they are extremely compairable in quality to American made guitars and also Ibanez Jem's. The price tag on the one being offered to me is $1,495. Here is what gets me. It appears that while all the reviews I have read are VERY positive, people that own them are saying they have horrible resale value (around $450ish). Anyone have one or had a chance to play one??
i9f specs~ Contoured body (like an Ibanez S series) Bolt on neck Kalantas Mahogany body and highly figured maple top 24 fret, 3-piece Maple neck, Rosewood board Seymour Duncan Pickups with coil tapping (H-S-H) Bridge PU - SD JB Middle PU - SD APS-2 Neck PU - SD Alnico APH-1N Floyd Rose Bridge (I believe licenced)

Re: Brian Moore Guitars - Anybody????
they were big here in CT and New York area a few years back. One of the cats I gig with owns two and loves them. From what I've garnered they went under when east Coast Music swapped owners and had some problems, killing the resale value. The ones I've played have all been high quality and well built.

Re: Brian Moore Guitars - Anybody????
I ended up getting the i9f. I swore I'd never own another Floyd but I couldn't pass on it. The guy had it profesionaly set up and it played like butter (notice I said played). Unfortunatly it was in serious need of a cleaning and it had red strings on it which just bugged the hell out of me. I took them off knowing that I would probably screw up the set up (which I did) but the fretboard really needed the attention. I cleaned her up and spent the last 2 hours reseting it. It's new set up is not quite as good as it was but still sounds amazing. I'll continue to tweak as I go but I am happy with the turn out. I'm mostly play rock but this would make an excellent jazz guitar.
Wife is gone till tomorrow with the camera so pics will be added tomorrow night.

Re: Brian Moore Guitars - Anybody????
Here are some pics. I did have a issue with it today though. I didn't give a seconds thought to the fact that it had FIVE springs holding the trem with 9 gauge strings. Between the tampering I did with my set up and the massive dive bomb I attempted today, the claws came right out of the body. I was able to screw the claws back in without issue and reset the guitar (this time with 3 springs). All seems fine now.
I'm really suprised that the claw screw went right back in. I would have thought I was screwed for sure!!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Brian Moore Guitars - Anybody????
I've got a cousin named Brian Moore, he's a dentist. I don't think he plays or has any idea that these guitars exist. If they were a little cheaper I'd buy him one as a gag gift.

My understanding is that BMG actually holds the patents on the MIDI or USB guitar. Their web site is: Welcome to Brian Moore Guitars |
