Talking Re: Guitars You Will Never Sell -Never Ever -:)

I have lots that I plan to keep til I croak, but obviously if the family needed it I would sell 'em all in an emergency.

Dire straits notwithstanding, I definitely wouldn't sell these:

First decent electric, refinished by my dad, 1960 Duo-Sonic:

First gigging guitar, my main axe in the crazy 80's, early '70's Breadwinner:

One of my nicer ones, and the one I paid the most for, LP Classic:

My first and only Hamer USA:

My most expensive Fender-style guitar, a '52 RI Tele:

My only Ric, a beater 620:

My first decent bass, MIJ Squier P-bass:

Ruby, my DeArmond Jet Star, a cheapie but a great axe:

My '61 Les Paul SG Custom

And my kinda rare Tobias Guitar

Theres also a 72 Tele that's signed by a whole mess of people, from Bruce Springsteen & Max Weinberg to the Sunn Records rhythm section (DJ Fontana, Sonny Burgess, Kern Kennedy, etc) and more.. Gotta get pics of that up soon.

All great guitars, and totally different.

I'd sell any of them for enough money.

Re: Guitars You Will Never Sell -Never Ever -:)

These days, I don't really want to be the kind of dude who sells off guitars. All the guitars I still have-- I play them, not sell/trade off like baseball cards or something like that..

But the ones that immediately come to mind that I will Never ever sell:

I will never sell my red PRS CE 24, it's the first *good* guitar I ever got...and it was a Christmas gift from my parents back when I was in high school, it's been with me for the longest time now, and it's actually my go-to guitar.

I do not ever want to sell my classical guitars, that is- up to the first guitar I ever had (a Takamine), the classical I inherited from my aunt's will, and the Paulino Bernabe I got while I performed in a classical guitar ensemble.. I had another cheapo Takamine sub-brand guitar, and I regret selling that one.

I don't intend to sell my Taylor, even if it's not one of the top dollar ones--- just to attatched to me.. lol

re: your tribute to Robbin Crosby of Ratt....that is really a great looking axe, and especially important knowing that he was your dear friend. I can understand you keeping it always...

it's funny how a guitar has a market value, but when it's your first, or a gift from a relative, lover or friend it carries a value no dollars can touch....

I never should have sold my burgundy 1961 LP Custom (single cutaway - the rare one) with gold hardware, total tone monster... now worth many thousands. I wish I still had my first guitar - an archtop f-hole full body Lee Gibbs Concertone with a sliding DeArmond pickup. As far as my current guitars - I'd hold my Dano Hodad (gift from a lover), my 1960 LP Jr,73 Deluxe, my 1995 Japanese 62 RI 3 tone Strat... My Tele Custom Scorpion, my Indonesian white strat w USA pups, my Squire Custom strat... I like all my guitars, and wish I had enough room to have them out all the time. I also wish I had a bunch more... Gretsch 6120, Martin D28, LG-0, B25... plus some Kustom amps, a super reverb, magnatone Varsity, Fender twin, Marshall cab w 810" speakers, more...

My 2002 Fender American Series Stratocaster - Chrome Red, Rosewood fingerboard - Wife gave it to me as a Christmas gift that year.

My 2006 Gibson Les Paul Standard - 60's Neck - Heritage Cherry Sunburst. My first LP and I am still in love with it.

You know, for the right reasons I'd sell them all, I will not say "never", as painful as that might be.

Re: Guitars You Will Never Sell -Never Ever -:)

Unless my family was starving:

Currently being customized by a dear friend as a gift and I treasure my gifts. It will get passed on to one of my daughters (should they decide to play or not) someday.

And:

My Rist Custom Tele. Rewound P90 neck pup by Roman himself, and a tele pup wound by Will as a gift to me.

This guitar will probably never be sold no matter the reason; I could never get what it is worth and, short of Roman building another, it is irreplaceable due to the fact it has a neck copied directly from a real '59 Les Paul. It is also in Les Paul scale. Looks all Tele, feels all Les Paul.

Will also go to one of my daughters. They can fight over them.

Some nice guitars there. I think Ild only keep my gibbyTrad Pro and Epi Elitist LP. The rest I could replace with something as nice.

DJ- That Rist Tele looks amazing, looks like what I have been thinking about as a build. Good score. Love it. And a conversion neck too, sweet.
