Wouldn't it be easier for you to just post on the occasional day that's not a NGD?

That's a beautiful guitar Tim. Congrats.

That says a lot coming from a guy who works (or owns, I don't know) in a music store, thanks!

Being only 60 - 90 minutes in, incredible on both counts.

Haha, I've heard that before. I've yet to really dig in to the PRS guitars though. I've seen some on here lately that have really been making me consider looking in to it though.

Re: Ngd - prs

Congratulations....: applause:

Love the color and the top on your guitar.
Come on, we need detail on how you like it and a comparison to your Historic Les Pauls.
I really like that model and I´m currently gassing for an older 513 with the rosewood neck.

As you might or might not know, I also got my first PRS a few weeks back.
Don´t these just play incredible? I mean seriously.....I was shocked how well mine played compared to my R9. Arrived perfectly in tune after a trip with the parcel service from England to Germany. I´m still in awe, every time I get home from work and look at it for the first time.
My Gibson buying days are over since I got that guitar.

Well, thanks again, guys!

I only used it briefly. Seems to work well and the guitar didn't go out of tune. It's different than Fender's where you screw the arm in. This one just goes straight in.

Olli, it's still too soon to tell but I can tell you now - nothing will replace my Les Pauls. This PRS is perfect so far, don't get me wrong...but then again, my '07 R9 has been perfect for over one year and counting!

I don't plan on buying more Les Pauls only because I have enough of those but I can see myself buying another PRS one day but not before I get another Tele. I sold my '52 VR to help fund this.

A few more pictures?

I'm also likely buying this.

That PRS looks like a toy guitar compared to that Firebird.

Thanks for the answer btw.

Congrats Tim. HNGD! Boy, you don't fool around. Despite the difference in price, I'd take the 'Bird in a heartbeat over the 513. So, everything cool? Nice clean construction on the 'Bird and all is well with the playability, tone, feel on the 513?

Now you went and did it again. I have some seriously bad GAS for a Firebird now. Man is that ever gorgeous.

Re: Ngd - prs

Yeah, this Bird is great! No issues like those other two.
I spent a bit of time stretching the strings on it and it stays in tune quite well.
Actually, I stetched/tuned it Thursday night, it was still in tune Friday after work and still in tune this morning.
I had some concerns with the tuners but AXE straightened that out.

The PRS is fantastic! I don't know what took me so long to get one.
It'll never replace my Lesters but I'm so glad I bought this.
I still don't like the positioning of the middle pickup (same as a Strat) but what can you do? I'll get over it.
My next guitar will either be a Tele or another PRS (Custom or SC245).

This is interesting - I looked them up on PRS's website and it says the pickups are 513 Pickup System (patents applied for)

PAFs!! I HAVE PAFs!!

Sweet finish on that guitar.....personally I think I'd like traditional HBs on it but those seem to be pretty versatile from reviews...I guess sometimes function wins over form....

Re: Ngd - prs

I wasn't pointing out a fault....I love the guitar....but it was just a personal opinion that to my with that finish it would look better - to me - with more traditional pickups....

That's why I bought it, for sound. It's amazing what this guitar can do. From one extreme to the other at the flick of a switch. The best thing about it is every setting sounds fantastic! I also like the look of this better than the Custom 22. Having said that, my next guitar will be a Custom 22.
