Well, I´ve been reading a bunch of stuff online and somewhere I found a statement that a little guitar Company (little compared to the big Gibson and Fender mammoths) would change their lineup pretty drastically in the near future.
I always wanted a guitar from that company so the GAS got the better of me and I pulled the trigger on a nice used one.....

Just one word:

BRAZILIAN

The color is Blue Matteo and the pics don´t do it justice. Very difficult to capture. I photoshopped them to look a little more like the guitar because the were always coming out blue but in real life the color is more like a deep turquoise .....

...carribean waters. I just love it.

Playability? Well....my other guitars are set up perfectly........at least that is what I thought.
Compared to this one I really get the impression I have to fight my older guitars (especially the R9). I can pull of stuff easily that took more effort and concentration with my other guitars.

Amazing job PRS.

And I just L O V E the inlays!

Congrats! It's stunning!!!
The birds are gorgeous as ever, but that blue is really something else. Incredible depth to the finish.

It is a 2003 McCarty Brazilian Limited edition.
They made 500 Custom 22s, 500 Custom 24s and 500 McCartys with brazilian fretboards and headstock +trussrodcover as a limited edition.
(kinda like the later artist packs - that have now been discontinued)

They used pink heart abalone for the birds and I really like the old solid birds far better than the new shadow birds that PRS puts on their guitars today. In fact I think you have to go Private Stock now, if you want inlays like the ones on this guitar.

@Angryhatter: Well, if you take into consideration that usually you can translate guitar prices from the United States to Europe 1:1 from Dollars to Euros meaning 1 dollar equals one Euro....

...I paid 1700 Euros for it shipped from the UK express to Germany. If you take that to a currencey converter it might look a little steep when seen in US$. But then again -> a new McCarty costs about 3500 Euros with birds over here. And that ain´t got braz....
I got it from a dealer in the UK and I think the price is fair - taking the mint condition of the guitar into consideration and the prices of highend guitars in Europe in general........

...I think it was more than fair.

I love it.

Just got your PM and have come by for a look. What a guitar!!!

That blue is lovely. With regards to finding it easy to play, you don't mean that lovely Fender as well do you?

Actually it plays a lot easier than any of my guitars - including the Fender. Would not have thought that. PRS is definitely something worth taking a look at. Even if your into the Big Ones like Gibson or Fender.

I even like the sounds when you split the coils. Not really Strat like clarity. More of a P90 kind of sound. This option wil definitely be used on stage.

Don´t you worry. As far as I undestood they don´t use them any more - at least atm. MAybe if requested in a 30K Private Stock guitar but most guitars with a rosewood neck from PRS are Indian rosewood. My guitar only has a Braz fretboard......

....although I do see a Modern Eagle I with all braz neck in my future....

Actually the PRS guitars with trem are by far more common.
There aren´t many models left that can be ordered with a stoptail.
